Like I have said time and time again, Maclin is no slouch and I am happy we have him. But Desean reminded those who had forgotten tonight why he is the Eagles' number one receiver. First play of the game...BOOM! Reverse action twice. 12 Yard pass = 91 Yard TD. Final Line - 4 Catches - 210 Yards - 1 TD.
To explain the difference between Desean and Maclin, you only need the following three words:
Desean

Games
Maclin is a very good receiver. One who, if he was the focal point of an offense, would no doubt put up big numbers. But Desean has that "it" factor that makes it so that the defense cannot take their eyes off of him. His routes affect defensive secondaries. His reverses and reverse action affects defensive lines and linebackers. His punt return threat affects special teams yardage. And his skills with the ball in his hands makes defenders question if they have what it takes. Those are things that Maclin simply doesn't do to the opposition.
For all those who question it, I hope the answer was shown tonight.
