Eagles Announce Inactives: Jerome Harrison Makes The Active Roster

For the first time since he was swapped for Mike Bell, RB Jerome Harrison will be on the Eagles active roster for gameday.  The inactives today include Joique Bell, Ellis Hobbs, Chad Hall, Daniel Te'o-Nesheim, King Dunlap, Reggie Wells & Clay Harbor.

Of those, the only real surprise is probably Chad Hall who had done some decent things over the past couple weeks and more or less served as the backup RB while also playing as a slot WR at times. Harrison's spot on the roster seems to have come at Hall's expense.

[Update by JasonB, 11/07/10 2:56 PM EST ] Also as Moving the Chains points out, rookie LB Keenan Clayton is active for the first time this week. That means everyone on the roster has been active at least once this season.

[Note by JimmyK, 11/07/10 3:05 PM EST ] With Dimitri Patterson starting, look for Keenan Clayton to be the rare linebacker gunner on punt coverage.

[Note by JimmyK, 11/07/10 2:59 PM EST ] Colts Inactives - CB Justin Tryon, FS Bob Sanders, CB Jerraud Powers, RB Joseph Addai, RB Mike Hart, LB Clint Session, TE Brody Eldridge, DT Antonio Johnson.

Kyle DeVan will start in place of Jamey Richard at LG, Gijon Robinson will be starting at TE, Jacob Lacey will start at CB in place of Jerraud Powers, and Tyluan Hagler will start at LB in place of Clint Session.

[Note by JimmyK, 11/07/10 3:43 PM EST ] Pat Angerer will also get the start for Indy at SLB.  That is one banged up defense.

Agreed, but Riley Cooper’s play hasn’t helped Chad chances, either.

Excited to see him play. I really hope he can be the real backup that McCoy needs

Same

He can’t be any worse than Mike Bell. Let’s see what he’s got.

I think Hall’s spot was freed up for Keenan Clayton since Joique Bell is also inactive. I wonder why they made Clayton active? I’m excited to see him play since I’d rather see what he could do then have Omar on the field. Maybe he is playing in a crowded area better which is what they wanted him to work on.

by The Legend on Nov 7, 2010 2:58 PM EST reply actions

I think Clayton is active to replace and/or add depth to STs, with Dimitri starting at CB. Also, Clayton is known for excelling in coverage, and we ARE playing the Colts today, although I don’t think it’s likely he’ll get PT on D (barring an injury situation).

Harbor and Joique seem to be fucking useless. What the hell is going on there? Tommy Lawlor, if you’re reading this, can you give us some inside word on why Harbor seems to be perpetually inactive?

by DLawrence55 on Nov 7, 2010 3:06 PM EST reply actions

I’m not Tommy of course, but the feeling is that the Eagles just don’t trust Harbor yet. Bell is just a project at this point.

by JimmyK on Nov 7, 2010 3:11 PM EST up reply actions

There both rookies from small schools. I think they’ll both contribute next year.

by The Legend on Nov 7, 2010 3:11 PM EST up reply actions

I wouldn’t call Washington a small school by any means. Te’o came from a major college program. They’re in the Pac-10

He didn’t mention Te’o. I know Washington is a big school there my Ducks biggest rival. We jsut got done with “I hate Washington week”

by The Legend on Nov 7, 2010 3:36 PM EST up reply actions

Well he’s not as good of a blocker as Mills and Mills has played well in limited action, and each team has inactives each week so why are you making a big deal out of it? can only fit so many players on the active roster.

by ryanitus on Nov 7, 2010 3:22 PM EST up reply actions

Must admit

I feel the same about T’eo. I’m thinking Harbor has more upside than Mills with some experience.

by DLawrence55 on Nov 7, 2010 3:27 PM EST up reply actions

Agreed, Harbor was active in the first couple weeks I think, but I like both Mills and Harbor but Harbor definitely has more upside.

by ryanitus on Nov 7, 2010 3:37 PM EST up reply actions

Why is the backup of the most fragile player inactive? As much as Dunlap sucks, you just know Jason Peters is gonna be coming out of the game at some point.

by philiafan14364 on Nov 7, 2010 3:22 PM EST reply actions

Knee injury

Hasn’t practiced all this week.

by PhiladelphiaEagles on Nov 7, 2010 3:32 PM EST up reply actions

Plus

Austin Howard is active, so we do have the personnel available if Peters goes down.

My biggest worry is Manning to Tamme, the Eagles can’t cover TE’s at all and having the best qb to ever play on the other team only makes this worse.

by ryanitus on Nov 7, 2010 3:24 PM EST reply actions

He has 12 receptions in his 3 year career. If he burns us its time to scrap the LBs and start over.

by philiafan14364 on Nov 7, 2010 3:29 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah well he was a backup until last week, 6 catches, 70 yds and a td, added him to my fantasy team and it paid off, he’s got good receiving skills and with Clark out he could do well. Look what Jason Witten does to us all the time, Chris Cooley, haven’t exactly been impressive against any TE’s, thankfully we don’t have to face Antonio Gates at all this season.

by ryanitus on Nov 7, 2010 3:40 PM EST up reply actions

youre really comparing tamme to witten and cooley?

by phillyeaglesfan on Nov 7, 2010 4:09 PM EST up reply actions

So does this mean Howard is active?

Got rational behavior? ...apparently not.
