No pressure, Andy, but our hopes of beating the Colts rest with you, and you alone.
Looking ahead, I am interested in how our terrific offense matches up against Indy's D. The Eagles can do everything well, and Indy certainly has their areas open to exploitation. Interestingly, Indy has a pretty good defense against the pass, and are the best in the league at shutting down #1 WRs. They're only average aaginst #2 WRs and TEs, which means to me that DJax might nothave a great game, but we should see something out of Maclin. At this point, I'm not counting on anything game changing from Celek.
At any rate, the really inteterting thing for me is that the one area in the passing game which Indy is really, really bad is against RBs. Also interesting is that as good as they are against the pass, they're worse than that against the run. Some say their defense is built to play with a lead, and I guess that's a good way of putting it. However they are certainly not built to stop another team with a lead! They are near the worst in the league against the run, and their DL can't stop Shady's grandmother in a short yardage situation.
Put it all together and if (a really big IF) Reid decides to go run, we should see a pretty good day. Of course, we have the # 4 RB in rushing, who's also terrific at receiving the ball. Throw in a QB who's #1 in rushing among QBs, despite playing in only a few games, and a WR (DJax) who ranks at #3 in terms of rushing among WRs, and there's only 2 ways we lose this game: 1) our defense rolls over for Manning, or 2) Andy has one of his patented "I know best, and what's best for this team is to run the ball only 9 times (averaging 12 yards a carry, no doubt) and throw like crazy the rest of the game" games.
