Well damn, after I just got done posting I thought he would play this week. How hurt is asante? This game is so important. It would be nice if he could go for this one and miss the houston game. Oh well, I hope he only misses one game. Crap. This really hurts the defense.
I didn't even know he got hurt?
What happened?

I don't have the link but...
Asante said something about hurting it on one of the fumble recoveries during the Giants game, I think? Was it after Eli’s 4 and 16 run then fumble. He seemed kind of slow getting up from that.

I'd rather
He miss this game and even the Houston one if needed and come back for the long haul, rather than push him and end up injuring him for the season. A sprained MCL isn’t no big deal. We don’t want it to turn into a tear or anything season-ending.
well, shit.
that blows. no way hanson can be any worse than hobbs, i guess.

I'm sure you mean
hobbs when he is injured

I agree that Hanson is horrible and we need depth at CB but while Paterson may not be a guy who’s going to sell a lot of jerseys he’s doing his job and he’s doing it well. He’s been matched against some great receivers and quarterbacks and he’s played well.

I thought
I saw somewhere that Hanson would move inside when they’re in the Nickel, with Lindley out wide. Can’t remember where, though…

Cutler is happy about this news...
I envisioned Asante getting a pick 6 in this game. Maybe Mikell can get one, instead.
Don't Sweat the Technique...
asante had no chance of a pick this week anyway
cutler is almost error free.

Look on the bright side
Chicago has close to the worst recievers in the league. I think we can handle them this week without Asante. Id rather have him ready for the better team in the Texans especially because we play them on Thursday on short rest.
You can muff a punt but can't punt a muff
these were my thoughts
MUCH rather have Asante ready for Andre, Walter, Jacoby Jones and Matt Schaub than Cutler and co.

I’d rather have a healthy Asante against a good Houston passing game than an injured Asante against a crappy Chicago passing game.

not a big deal
we are playing against Cutler guys. I’d rather him be out now than against any other of our upcoming opponents.

This sucks. I was imagining Asante having a career day with Cutler throwing the ball. If Hall can get 4 picks in a single game against this clown, just imagine what Asante could do (if they even threw the ball his way).
Hopefully our safeties bring their A game to help out Hanson.

Well this sucks!
In other news, should I now definitely start Johny Knox?
Domino effect
Hanson has played fairly well in the slot this year despite the ridiculous calls on here in the preseason to cut him outright for a bunch of posters.
Problem is that he doesn’t have the speed to play on the outside and will need constant safety help on deep routes from Knox.
Yeah the Bears don’t have a great core of WRs but Knox has consistently shown he can makes plays this year and my bet is that Hester sees a ton of 1-on-1 and Olsen sees his share of favorable matchups vs. LBs tomorrow.
This isn’t a great secondary to begin with and with Hobbs/Samuel out it is definitely below average.
If Cutler gets any kind of consistent time tomorrow when the Eagles don’t blitz, my bet is he has one of his better games this season.
Yet another game where Vick and the offense have to score at least 27-28 pts for a victory.
27-28 points
I can see that happeninng. We’re not the Panthers or Miami starting 3rd string QBs like the Bears a used to.

This isn’t a great secondary to begin with? Brian Baldinger would beg to differ with this statement.

Doesnt surprise me
Bears been catching alot of breaks. This actually gives them a chance to win the game.
