Former Eagle Jon Runyan Elected To US House Of Representatives

This summer, we sent one Eagle to the nation's capital and so far that's worked out pretty good for us. Tonight, New Jersey's 3rd congressional district has sent another Eagle to DC when they elected Jon Runyan to the US House Of Representatives. Runyan unseated incumbent John Adler in a long and expensive campaign that was very tight right to the end.

Now Runyan gets to find out what's the dirtier and rougher environment, the trenches of an NFL game or the halls of congress. At this point, that's probably too close to call.

So congratulations to Runyan and his four donkeys. Now he's got to go to Washington and govern. For his sake and certainly for our own, hopefully he does well for his district.

Brilliant!

Politics is dirtier because it’s more sinester and beneath the surface. Now he won’t just be able to grab a guy by the balls or hit him when he disagrees vehemently. Should be interesting to watch.

Who says he can't?

Dude, I would love to see something like that happen at the House Of Representatives. I would watch CSPAN if more stuff like that happened.

That's awesome

Jon was one of my favorite players when he was on the Eagles – and probably the only o-lineman actually I enjoyed watching. Hope he starts busting heads in Congress.

My thoughts exactly. As much as I love Runyan, this just shows how powerful name recognition is.

I’ll give him a pass. He’s supposed to be able to represent the people. To my knowledge, telling the government that we need more money for roads does not require a landmark ruling given by a racist Chief Justice of a Supreme Court that was overturned years later

In short, don’t complain. I’m sure he’ll represent the people in a more than ample manner

Its funny because being in the House is a lot like playing O-line in the sense that its really hard to judge how well someone is doing unless they fuck up.

Ogre?

Any day now we’ll see him leaning over the balcony of the Capitol building while holding a scrawny Mitch McConnell by the ankles, and the rest of the congressmen will be yelling: “Nerds! Nerds! Nerds!”

I think it would be Boehner more than McConnell. At least McConnell is a natural skin color.

Let the beasting begin.

Boehner is really creepy looking. He looks more like the guy who should be representing New Jersey…

Boehner is defintiely a Jersey Shore orange, so I pegged him as an Alpha Beta. McConnell’s nerdy grin and droopy jowls made him a prime target for me. (a close second was Joe Lieberman)

I think McConnell looks more like a muppet than anything else. And honestly, I’m not sure if thats better, worse, or a lateral move.

Let the beasting begin.
