Now that you've read my headline...and the shitfest that I linked to, let me get down to business.
Jason, thank you for moderating a forum where people can discuss the sporting issues of the day in a frank, open manner. Your stories are high quality and you run a board where people can argue over Eagles business in a way that is truly reflective of the best (and sometimes worst, but mostly best) passion and energy of any fanbase in the country. On this board, people can fight it out and sometimes come to a consensus, sometimes not. That's the very nature of sports talk.
The "Tastes Great" vs. "Less Filling" Miller Lite commercials of the 80's really did hit the nail on the head. Sports provokes visceral reactions. Sometimes those visceral reactions do not lend themselves to the Queen's English. That's where Jason comes in. I certainly do not always agree with Jason, but a spirited back and forth is good for the soul. Hell, it's why we watch sports in the first place. If we wanted to solve our problems through polite banter and hugs we would have chosen to be women.
I stand by what I said before. This is the best newspaper in town.

I’ve been crazy about this site ever since I first found it a few years ago. The only thing I regret is not being able to spend all day on here (damn job!). But honestly, it’s not just Jason, Jimmy and me who make BGN. We’d be nothing without the constant intelligent, insightful and humorous contributions by all of the fantastic users here. This is truly the best online community I’ve ever had the pleasure to be a part of.

It’s a shame, too.
Stampede Blue has (or should I say had?) some of the most knowledgeable commenters on any SB Nation football site, perhaps on any SB Nation site period. I joined there before the SB, and even though I don’t care whatsoever for the Colts, I came back to read their commentary. Very, very insightful. No disrespect to BGN commenters, but SB has a tremendous fanbase.

+1, I’m on here on the time (may not post a comment or fanshots very much, but I check the sight at least 3-4 times a day) and I’m in complete agreeance. This is the best place I’ve found not only for up to the minute Eagles and NFL news; but the discussions and threads are great, the guys that run the sight not only do a great job for us, but have gained enough notice from the league and from the Eagles FO to get into places like the draft and training camp to bring us insider info. Props to Jimmy, Jason, Bob for all your hard work, and props to all the fellow members that keep this place fun and informative. We’ve got the best fanbase in the NFL and the best Blogsite as well. I couldn’t agree with you more, F_all_other_colors and Okie. I’m not a regular “contributor”, but this is the only site I go to for Eagles news (at least a half a dozen times daily). I enjoy the site because of the sense of community and the passion the fans have here, as well as how knowledgeable Jason, Jimmy, and Bob are. Also, I always enjoy whatever it is EB has to say. He always seems well thought out and well spoken.

Just so you Eagles fans know, the Colts fanbase is very divided right now. Many are still livid with management for benching starters during Week Sixteen last year. Also, losing a Super Bowl when your team is favored doesn’t help. Colts fans have a reputation for being overly sensitive and thinking the world is out to get them. This past off-season, we’ve done little to refute that perception.

2. Just because he got arrested for partying too hard doesn’t make him any less loved by colt fans (probably the opposite) or any less relevant to the team. Hell, I know I like him more after he bashed you and got arrested… he seems like a fun, normal guy who has had an occasional run-in with the law like many of us. It’s funny how you use that to discredit his opinion of your terrible “journalism” (when you want your ‘work’ to be called ‘journalism’) or “opinion” (when you want to call it opinion).

Far be it for me to jump on as a non-regular, but if this is your sense of humor, why all the angst over KSK and X-Mas Ape? That is to say, if you’re so into the passive aggressive “it’s a joke, guys!” model, how is that any different than what the folks at KSK do every day? Except vis quality, of course.

I don’t have any angst for KSK in general. In fact, I like several of the writers over there. This past august I got to party with Monday Morning Punter (Josh Zerkle). Really nice guy. Fun as hell to trash talk with about football.
My beef with Mike Tunison is a beef many have with him. He’s just an asshole. Plain and simple. Now, some have thrown that label at me, and in some cases it’s justified. I don’t hold back my opinion. It’s what they pay me to write about. Sometimes, when I’m critical, I come off as an asshole. Tunison is just an asshole all the time. Everyone acknowledges it privately. In fact, I’ve gotten a lot of email recently fro people asking me why I haven’t taken any recent shots at him. Apparently, many people enjoyed our little spat. I haven’t criticized him of late out of respect for SB Nation’s higher ups, who are friends of mine. They hired Mike to edit SBNation.com. In general, I make it a point to hold back on attacks towards SB Nation writers unless they are REALLY asking for it. So far, Mike hasn’t done that. He’s been pretty tame at SB Nation.

Ah, okay, thanks for the clarification; it’s something I’ve always wondered, but obviously haven’t had a chance to ask. Given that I don’t know Tunison, most of my understanding of the feud was from the outside, so it always seemed a bit over-pitched to me. FWIW, I think your tendency to lay off is pretty admirable; I’m a big KSK fan, but I thought the whole feud wasn’t really witty, just kind of mean-spirited.
That said: bring on fetus-head! :)

No, that’s fair. I think the issue there is that KSK has some growing pains in terms of finding its limits. The blog’s meant to be offensive to a certain degree, but their treatment often hedges itself back after it goes a bit overboard. Even if you don’t see immediate apologies or anything, I think the tone of Drew’s FJM-style rants on King have worked hard to stay above board since; I can imagine that, if the mission statement of the blog is “dick jokes n’ football,” the lines can be pretty blurry.
