Whether the Cards make a play for McNabb remains to be seen, but there's no debating that the team needs an upgrade at the quarterback position. They could do so via the draft (this year's crop of QBs is a good one), but they also could pursue a trade.
In his chat Wednesday, ESPN's Chris Mortensen was asked about the possibility of Arizona pursuing a trade with the Eagles for Kevin Kolb. Mortensen writes: "I think the Cardinals should make a run at Kolb IF he's available. There's a glaring QB deficiency and I think Kolb would be Ken Whisenhunt's type of guy. That means giving up first-and-third round picks but I'd make a run at it if I were the Cardinals. Will the Eagles listen? You make 'em listen by being aggressive."
Seeing as how the Cards' last first-round pick at QB (Matt Leinart) didn't pan out too well, Arizona might prefer to go out and get a veteran like Kolb who is still young but has shown he has the potential to be a successful passer in the NFL.
As for the Eagles, they're in an enviable position in that they don't have to trade Kolb, but as ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter notes (see below), it's clear that they already have an elite starting quarterback on their roster -- and they won't be letting him get away.

Vick isn't going anywhere ...
"Let's make this simple. Michael Vick is playing at a higher level than any in football. The Eagles are one of the smartest organizations in all of football. Does anybody really think there's any chance that the Eagles are going to let Vick walk out their door without getting anything in return? No chance -- none."
In a heartbeat for a 1st and 3rd. What do you guys think?
