Eagles Fans Staying Humble
Although the national media has jumped on the Vick bandwagon, us in the Eagles brotherhood seem to be keeping our emotions and anticipations in check. I am pleasantly surprised with our lack of bragging and rubbing our recent success in other teams respectable faces. Vick may take us to the promise land that we have been forever pursuing, but we will take it one week at a time. Youth prevails, and we have the world of the NFL watching and waiting for us to fail. Let's show em what we've got!

Mr. DickMuffin
What kind of fan are you? This is a nice post by a great fan and you are here making this foolish and nonsensical statement? Is this all the English you know? Shame to you.
Congratulations Eagles fans, you really have a team with Michael Vick. Humility is the key.
No, you got me all wrong.
Let me explain myself.
In ancient England single people couldn’t have sex unless they had consent of the king. When people wanted to have a baby, they had to get the consent of the king, and the king gave them a placard that they hung on their door while they were having sex. The placard had F. U. C. K.(Fornication Under Consent of the King). Hence that’s where the word Fuck came from.
-Snopes.com
So as you can see, these fine people have elected me the king of the internet, and as king I was merely providing Dunta Is A PUNK with a verbal “placard” so he can tap some ass.

Hey guys
Sorry to hijack this thread. It appears to be going in a wonderful direction.
But J-Man needs your help. J-Man posts here frequently. He has Cerebeal Palsey, and is an all around good dude.
He’s not feeling so good, can you all go over to Mile High Report and wish him well?
SB Nation won’t let me do 3 posts at the same time. Here’s the link

I feel terrible for J-Man. I know he posts here a bunch, so help a brother out! Thanks

I haven’t registered over there so I gotta wait the 24 hours.
j-man is great and we all love him over here. He’s one of the few outsiders we take seriously, and we all have a ton of respect for him. Hopefully he’s not too down about that comment — we all say stuff we regret, and while I don’t know the comment he’s referring too I’m sure a lot of us have said worse.
Also a hat tip to Stampede Blue; you guys seem to be one of the classier sites on SBN, and having an ambassador like j-man really speaks to your character as a blog.
Got rational behavior? ...apparently not.

F’ing… I switched the goddamn names of the blogs. Stampede Blue is NOT classy. MHR is… Sorry. Apologies all-around and I go to bed as a douchebag.

Stampede Blue has to be the worst SB Nation site
Most Colts fans post on the Texans blog. It’s f’ing hilarious!
I know, we played the Colts recently so that name was fresh in my head. I knew it didn’t look right when I typed it, but I didn’t check it. D-bag move on my part, I feel like a total idiot, lol.

Seriously?
During the monday night game, I had to banhammer/warn/delete a bunch of your boys on the Giants side of SB Nation. I have not seen too much hubris at all, truth be told.
Our “boys” that you happened to ban aren’t really our “boys.” They are a group of Cowboy’s fans with fake Eagles accounts who’s main purpose in life is to ruin our fine reputation.
Jason Peters: Heart of a Lion, Face of a Chipmunk.

You really believe that?
Most of them were from Philly according to their IP addy… so if they are ’Boys trolls, they are going all out to fake their login IP at all times.
No I don't.
It was a joke that completely went over your head. That’s my bad. Plus we all know that Cowboy’s fans aren’t smart enough to know how to use a proxy.

Answer the question. Let me come to your level… if the Giants lose will you be unavoidably detained while the rest of relish at your expense? Man up and say that you’ll at least make one post, just one.

So now it's if?

You’re an idiot.
Talking to you is like trying to explain to a 2 year old why it’s not OK to take all your clothes in public. You just laugh and do it anyway, and pee all over the floor.
And so, I take it from your mystifying song-and-dance that you wont be around on Sunday around 9PM EST?
8 year olds, dude.
Excellent.
Let’s resort to name-calling.
Wormburn, I hate to tell ya this but I will be on Monday morning, always am. If you have something to say to me at that point, that’s fine, I’ll tip my cap should the Eagles win.
But I’m not the one who said the Eagles will lose, and I’m certainly not the one resorting to name-calling and personal attacks…that would be you fine sir.
Should the Giants manage to come out victorious over the juggernaut that is the Eagles, take solace in the fact that I will realize there will still be six games to be played, and won’t seek you out to “elish at your expense” via the internet.

Touch of trepidation there. Understandable.

Quite the contrary
Looking ahead to the Eagles game does not bring me any sort of feelings of fear, the elite competition the Giants will face Sunday night only excites me.

Just playin'.
The media hype is ridiculous, I agree.
It’s NFL football, and I look forward to a very exciting game. Hope it’s well played and free of referee bungling.
I believe the line is about 3, so the people who put up their money think it should be a close game.
Good luck.
"What a gorgeous dog. What do you feed him?"
I think it's gonna be awesome.
One way or the other, i don’t see the Giants coming out flat, and I don’t see the Eageles coming out flat.
The only thing I would hate to see is injuries to key players, and like you said, referee bungling.
Good luck to you as well.

In alot of ways many Eagles fans are remaining “humble” to an extent. We all know that they can shit the bed on any given Sunday just like the next team. Weve seen them fuck it up already this year. Are we more confident with Vick now with the way he’s playing? Of course we are…why wouldnt we be. Have you seen the mOnday night game? It was like playing Madden for F sakes. We also know that the Giants can play at a high level as well, but we’re not going to just sit there and NOT be excited and NOT be rowled up about the matchup with the way the Eagles are playing right now….its just not going to happen…Its Exciting dude…it is what it is…
FLY #7 FLY !!!

That's fine bro
I totally respect the fact that you guys are excited. I would be too.
The Eagles are the best team in the NFC, quite possibly the NFL, today, there’s a lot to be excited about in Philly.
But let’s be real…Posts titled “NY Is Poopin There Pants” and taking the time to grab quotes from miserable Redskins fans to make a Fan Post does not fall under the category of :
lack of bragging and rubbing our recent success in other teams respectable faces.
And a comment that says:
when the Giants lose on Sunday are you going to be unavailable as one might expect?
Is no example of being humble in the least.
So while I agree you all have every right to be excited, and every right to be rubbing it in and jawing at opposing teams fans, theres no need to pretend you’re not.

Not everyone is like that...
..and thats what im trying to tell you. There will always be people who rub it in or brag more than others. Its just reality. There has been some"humbleness" out here. You should see what goes on on these posts sometimes. There were plenty of jump on the Kolb Wagon, fire the coordinator wagon, etc. But since the game on Monday, as much excitement as was seen on here, there are still a lot that remain on an even keel. It may or may not be the majority, but I believe that is what the writer of this post was eluting to.

Do you not enjoy the SBs your team has won? Way back when.
Well, we all know Monday was just another Division game but it was fun! Get it?
To humiliate a division rival is a good thing.
Just be thankful you had the opportunity to experience a thrashing by a team as great as the 2010 Philadelphia Eagles. You are blessed and don’t appreciate it, but you will some day.

Not so much humble
I am not so much humble as just tentative. Bleeding Green all my life has made me realistic. I doubt that anyone knows the meaning of “On any given Sunday” better than an Eagles fan. I am pumped and excited by the prospect of what the Eagles might do. But if Michael Vick is apprehended by aliens in the middle of a game, beamed up to a spaceship that zooms off to Mars, I will shrug and say, “Go get ’em, Kolb.” Yeah, it’s good to show class by not taunting and being a bad sport, but if some goof wants to talk trash, let ‘em have it. It’s all in good fun.
