Eagles: Victor Abiamiri Out for the Year

Stay connected for news and updates

According to multiple sources, the Eagles have ended Victor Abiamiri's 2010 season before it even started. The 24 year old defensive end will reportedly not head to IR, but remain on the Physically Unable to Perform list for the rest of the year. This does not bode well for the oft-injured Abiamiri, who underwent microfracture surgery after the 2009 season and apparently still isn't back to 100%. He could easily lose his job next year barring a complete turnaround.

As of now, though, the picture at defensive end still isn't crystal clear. Andy Reid usually carries 5-6 defensive ends on the team and, with Abiamiri not counting towards the total, the Eagles currently have five. Rookie Daniel Te'o-Nesheim has yet to make an impact with the team and Juqua Parker, while productive, is on the wrong side of 30. We may not have seen the last of Abiamiri, but don't hold your breath.

Thanks to Team Serbia for breaking the news.
