Lets keep collecting former 1st Round Picks!!
Today Jason Allen was waived by the Miami Dolphins when they signed Al Harris.
Jason Allen was a 1st round draft pick in 2006 by Nick Saban.
While Saban might not have been the best NFL coach, he certainly had/has a great eye for talent.
Jason Allen finally won a starting CB job this year in Miami, beating out all competition in the pre-season. He has had 3 ints so far this year, and certainly does not lack talent.
Just like former first round pick Ernie Sims, this opportunity seems based on a lack of "fit" for a defensive scheme, and a great chance to pick up a talented player for peanuts.
I say go get him! While it may seem that I have a perpetual hard-on for other teams' first round draft picks, I think that is a good thing, I mean, they were first round picks for a reason.....except Jamarcus Russel....he just sucks.
What do you think? Could our secondary use him? Does he fit what we do? Could he be a beneficial and productive member of our secondary?

I think we have to keep the guy we just signed for 3 weeks so we can’t release him so I don’t know who we would in order to get him.

In all seriousness
if they really wanted Allen they could easily cut Wells. Hell, they might have already. Although with Fat Jean Gilles out, they may actually have to play him.
depending on
allen or hobbs injury, u could IR one of them
Probably not, thats why we haven’t seen anything offical

I was just being sarcastic by implying that had he been coming off of a knee injury, we would be sure to sign him :P

So was I, I meant that we hadn’t heard anything offical that we were looking at him, so he must not have had an injury

I can think of a few guys they could cut.
I like the idea.
Then we just need Asher Allen from MIN and move Will Allen from MIA to SS.
Allen, Allen, Allen, & Allen. (Also a VA law firm).
Nope.

He wasn’t well liked by Dolphins fans, I think. I’m sure there is a reason for that.
RIP Jim Johnson, best ever.
Because he was seen as a bust, and a waste of a first round pick. I remember hearing them complain about him from the day after the draft.
(lived in exile here in South Florida since 2005, so I hear too much Dolphins talk)
Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
Keep him, and you have Cole as one of your gaurds.

actually
it seems like subtraction by addition.

keeping him is; 52+-1= 51
cutting him is; 52—1=53.

Obviously there is no higher purpose of math than the equation I just posted.

He's too fat to cut
"What a gorgeous dog. What do you feed him?"
And you think the BP oil spill was a disaster...
Have you ever tried to clean up a human fat spill? Bounty does not make enough paper towels.

No.

I give this idea a big fat “Why not?”
Dick Jauron seems like he knows what he’s doing. The secondary is exceeding everyone’s expectations and I haven’t heard anyone mention how they miss Sheldon Brown.
LOL
See Qwest mention how he misses Sheldon Brown :-)
I do agree with you though. Most of the time, people are first round picks because of measurables like speed and strength and later round picks because of intangibles. He has great speed and is a sick athlete…so if he is coached up, he could become a good player.
Bro??? I've been ripping on Hobbs dick sucking all season... The fact that I would have to say "I miss sheldon brown" really
pisses me off, by ripping on Hobbs inability to cover all year should be enough to show my displeasure with the RCB position.. I’ve definintly been saying we need to have a Patterson/Lindley rotation there.
