Comcast NFL Red Zone stat of the week - Something doesn't have to give

The Eagles "stat of the week" is brought to you by Comcast and the new NFL Red Zone channel

One of There are two significant streaks will come to end  in play this weekend as the Eagles face the Cowboys in the first round of the playoffs.

Andy Reid is undefeated(7-0) in the first game of the playoffs. The Cowboys have not won a playoff game since 1996.

That makes more sense.

Star-divide

Comcast is carrying the new NFL Red Zone channel. NFL Red Zone lets you follow all the red zone action on NFL Sunday as it happens. When a team gets inside the twenty, the network cuts to that game. It's a fantasy player's dream.

They don't ever break for commercials and the action literally never stops. They don't just limit it to red zone trips either... I was watching last weekend and they would show any game live if no team happened to be in the red zone. This is probably the best thing ever invented for an NFL fan that's looking for something to flip to when the Eagles game goes to commercials...

Best of all, you see this all in HD.

How does something have to give?

If the Eagles win both streaks continue unblemished. Is there another streak not referenced here? Maybe the Cowboys sweep of us so far this season?

Yea

Sorry Jason… Those are not mutually exclusive stats, infact they either both increase or stop… so please don’t post bad ju-ju.

Baddd..

Agreed…Take this post down Jason…

Agreed. If the Eagles win, both streaks will live on.

"Backs in the 'I'...First and 10...McNabb, play action. Is back again. He is looking..he is going deep. He wants DeSean Jackson..who HAS IT!!! HE HAS IT!!! AND STEPPED INTO THE ENDZONE!! He took it away from the defender!! He took it away from Dominique Rogers-Cromarte, and ran into the endzone!!"

first thing I thought too. Might wanna fix that

Another streak will continue or end

Reid is 0-3 in the playoffs when the Eagles play a team they played and failed to beat in the same regular season (Giants 2000, Rams 2001 and Saints 2006).

His other 3 NFC playoff defeats were against teams the Eagles had beat in the same regular season!

The Bucs had never won a cold weather game until they came into the VET and handed us our collective asses on the way to a Lombardi Trophy. Streaks are generally just stupid coincidences, marched out by lazy beat writers. Play the game on the field.

Streaks are good odds… Never won a cold game, finally won one.. Odds are they lose the next time.

If you’re a degenerate gambler! From Seinfled:
Kramer: He’s a mudder. His father was a mudder. His mother was a mudder!
Other guy: His mother was a mudder?
Kramer: what did i just day?!

Sure use a scripted storyline. Odds are odds, if you wanna gamble on them it’s always a game of chance… but I would suggest betting on good odds over bad. Favre or Tampa away and cold, bad odds.. you may lose those bets once in a blue moon.. but if you’ve been betting everytime, you’re probably a happy man.

If I’m betting every time, I’m a sucker and a degenerate!

Nothing's gotta give

With all due respect, Jason… but I hope nothing gives this weekend. I’d rather see both streaks continue.

The Eagles are the first team in NFL history to have a running back and a wide receiver with 500 yards apiece in the same season before their 22nd birthdays.

Can't compare

Any stats from any team from any year other than the current are meaningless. This is a new year and every team has new players and a year more experience. I get a kick out of people saying that teams haven’t won playoff games since 96 or Reid is 0-3 in the playoffs when the Eagles play a team they played and failed to beat in the same regular season. So what. None of that matters right now. These are different players and different circumstances. It is proven every year that any team can beat any team on any given day. So Saturdays game will be won by the team that makes the least amount of mistakes and takes advantage of their opportunities. Period.

Thank You!

HAH! Yea man, thats what I been sayin all along, cept not out loud! lol But really, Im tired of hearing’ bout 44-6. I mean, yes it was AWEsome, but really the media will take anything from anywhere and fuel the fire any which way they can. Both teams are vastly different than what they were last year. Take a look at the roster changes jones made, no mo pacman, no mo TO, nomo Roy WIlliams-the-safety. Then we got J-Mac, Shady and Dream-Weaver. So as you said, it all comes down to the lack of mistakes and execution.

Bad post Jason

I read it 4 times trying to figure out what had to give. Thought I must be missing something. Streaks are goofy and pretty useless, but they come in handy for ribbing.

7-0

thats not something to overlook
