"Kurt and I have been friends pretty much since 2001 when we played in the (NFC) Championship together. We’ve communicated back and forth. I actually talked to him after (Arizona’s) last game against New Orleans, and I told him it has been a story-book career for him. (He is) a guy who was third on the depth chart behind (Minnesota QB) Brett Favre, (former Green Bay QB) Mark Brunell, (former Green Bay QB) Ty Detmer and everybody else who was in Green Bay. To get an opportunity after playing with the Iowa Barnstormers and to be an MVP, a Super Bowl MVP and play on a historic team that put up great numbers on offense and then go to New York and not really do as well as he wanted to and then going to Arizona and just light it up, it’s something that you read about. To actually see it, more power to him. (He is) a Hall of Famer."

Hall of Fame?
Hmm, McNabb called him a hall of famer. Kind of interesting that they have very similiar stats at this point in their careers. There are 2 main differences however.
1 – Kurt has a SB ring.
2 – Kurt had the luxury of playing with 2 teams that had ultra talented receiving corps. Fitz Boldin and Breaston are probably the best WR trio in the game today. And then you have the Rams WR’s of the early 2000’s (Bruce, Holt and were just unbelievable), to go along with perhaps the best dual threat RB in the history of the game in Faulk. We are all too farmiliar with the WR’s Donovan had to work with over the majority of his career.
I think Warner is a better system QB than McNabb, but I think McNabb can make average teams better in a way Warner just could not. Swap QB’s in the NFC title game in 2001 and no way the score is is close as it was.
Bottom line – At this point in their careers, I don’t think either gets in the hall. But, I think McNabb has a better case for the HoF than does Warner. However with McNabb, the media seems to feed off of every opportunity to create controversy, where holier-than-thou Warner’s media persona is portrayed as a humble, altruistic, rags to riches story that everyone just eats up. It is because of this, and not what they did on the field, that Saint Warner will get serious HoF talk and, if McNabb retired this season, there would be little to no HoF discussions for him.

Our own QB
I read this and think it is very honorable and great that McNabb has said this about a very deserving QB in Warner. The words ring very true, and McNabb was good for saying it.
The one thing I want more than anything is for some day in the future, a great quarterback is able to pay McNabb the same compliment upon his retirement, the very same thing.

Dallas sucks, Giants suck, and who cares about the Redskins?
Why does McNabb
always seem so damn friendly with everyone?
I mean, come on, he’s always “mentoring” someone or calling someone a friend. Hugging LT before a big game against San Diego, giving advice to JaMarcus Russel, whispering in Jay Cutler’s ear after a game….
I want a QB with a competitive passion that hates his opponents on gameday, not someone who is looking to find his new BFF on gameday.
You can't be serious.
Warner is always friendly at the end of games. Brees is always friendly. Actually, most guys in the league are friends with lots of other guys on other teams. Sorry to burst your bubble. It really is terrible that McNabb is so friendly though you’re right. What kind of jackass is a nice guy who looks to help other people? Such an asshole.
NO YOU'RE WRONG!!!!
lol some people are going to find excuses to hate McNabb no matter what.
Most Chargers fans wish Phillip Rivers wasn’t such a douchebag.
God forbid McNabb should be a good sportsman
GO CUSE, BLUE, AND EAGLES!

Warner has the story, the career, and the ring
Like it or not, Warner’s getting into the Hall of Fame. He may not make it on the 1st ballot, but he’ll get in.
My take on McNabb is that unless he starts putting up some career highs and serious numbers real fast, he needs a Super Bowl ring in order to get into the HoF.
Proudly supporting a Flyers team with "no honor".
Warner is a 1st ballot HOFer
No question.
