This Man carrrrriiieddd the city of Philadelphia with some of the worst recievers in the history of the NFL. Back in Donovans prime when he could run or pass we were one of the most dangerous teams in the NFL. You can not disagree with that. We had a great defense back then during the regular season but they failed to cause 1 turnover in any of the NFC Championship games. Not ONEEE turnover in ANY of the NFC Championship games.
Instead of drafting OCHO CINCO...Reggie Wayne....or even Panthers Steve Smith....who did the Eagles give McNabb....Freddie Mitchell.....and you guys hate McNabb? wow thats pathetic.
Lets go through some of these amazing recievers we gave Mcnabb during his prime to make him an elite Superbowl winning QB:
Na Brown....wow
Torrence Small.....wow
Frreddie Mitchell....wow
Todd Pinkston....wow
James Thrash....wow
Reggie Brown....wow

Donovan McNabb made the most AVG tight end in history a local legend in Chad lewis.
The system failed McNabb....
Reid failed McNabb....
The Front office failed McNabb....
Yes hes on his way down and yes hes not as good a passer as at least ten of the best NFL QB's today....but we wasted his prime (when he could run or pass)...01-05...with the worst talent around him that you could ever imagine,...who remembers Duce staley against the bucs in the playoffs dropping that gorgeous over the shoulder ball that McNabb threw....Annnd he protects the ball better than almost any QB in Historyyyy.. I believe hes 3rd .alllllllll timmmeee in TD to Int Ratio.....3rd allll timmmeee....wow so what he never won a superbowl and you hate him....do you know how lucky..inujry free..you have to be to win the Super Bowl...besides maybe trent Dilfer I cant think of a QB with less weapons than Mcnabb who actually won a Superbowl....be thankful that we have at least been competitive the last ten years you whinny bastards...
McNabb if you ever read this...Id rather lose with you ...then win with someone else just to piss off all your haters,,,your the man and you have carried this team for a decade...thank you DNABB my boyyyyy

No one hates him
This “Mcnabb haters” term coined up is misleading. I am one of the people that wish to see us cut ties with Mcnabb this year, and I think I can speak for everyone of us “mcnabb haters” that we don’t hate him. He has been our QB for the past 11 years and we appreciate what he has done. He’s created a bunch of memories for me and others that we wont forget. We had a great run with him and we all wish him the best. No one hates him. We just feel that its time for a change and that he’s current skill set doesn’t suit our young offense as well as it used to.
Personally, I would like us to trade him, but I’m not going to cry if we don’t. Its a contract year for him so maybe he steps it up.

the recent fan post of Mcnabb was a joke… sarcasm.. you know?
McNabb is awesome and...
if he had just a little help back in the day (meaning another playmaker than himself and BWest) there’s no telling how much better McNabb would look in the eyes of NFL fans.
In my head, he is a true NFL premier player and his legacy tells why.

i am actually a huge supporter of mcnabb and have backed him on many, many, many occassions. you can look through my profile and will not find one negative comment about mcnabb. has the guy made his mistakes? sure. will kolb be any better? who knows. but is donovan the best qb in eagles history? absolutely… and i love him for that.

Name any team in the past decade that has won a championship, and I can come up with a large list of sucky receivers on those teams as well. Truth is, McNabb has played with his fair share of elite offensive weapons in his career.
But that aside, nobody here dislikes McNabb. We do, however, for the most part, just want what’s best for the franchise. Some people think that the best direction for the team is to trade McNabb, some people think that he should stay. But nobody hates him, certainly not on this blog, so enough with the “McNabb hater” nonsense – It’s dumb.
That was then, this is now
Look, I support McNabb as our QB for the 2010 season – if not longer – but everything in your article is about how McNabb succeeded in the past.
But that was then. Now, facing 2010, the debate is legitimately about whether McNabb is the right guy to continue leading this team as the starting QB.
Fans can disagree. They’ve got their reasons. If Kolb is the starting QB next season we’re all still Eagles fans.

The past is the past. We all appreciate Mcnabb. We’re looking out for whats best for the franchise moving on. And unfortunately, “dirt balls and choking and throwing up” as you said it is what we’re dealing with now.
Its fun to live in the past, but that doesn’t help the current situation, which is going to be a huge decision. It is rightfully started a bunch of heated debates.
OK, so the guy had jack shit to work with. But now we have the talent but McNabb isnt getting it done. Sorry that I believe that Kolb would be better to go with now, I didn’t realize that that meant I hated McNabb.
I also think that past success doesn’t mean that he is better for the future. I loved the guy for years, yeah I never considered him to be a top five QB, but he has been damn good. Its just that he is on the decline, and we would be better suited starting a new then wasting more time.

Trent Dilfer. It works both ways. Creating a list of average to horrible WRs that have played for the Eagles since Don was drafted is fine, but the point is rather shallow. It’s almost like, in a backward way, you’re admitting that you don’t think Don will get it done without an extremely talented supporting cast in every facet of the team.
In which case, we wouldn’t need Don — we could just ask Mr. Dilfer to take a year off from broadcasting and make a run.

Trent Dilfer had arguably the greatest defense EVER at his disposal. While we have had some sick defenses, I don’t think they’ve ever been on par with that Ravens team.

“We wasted McNabb or McNabb didnt’ get it” done during ‘01-’05. Man that is the past. 5 years ago and getting more distant everyday.
What I am more concerned about is do the Eagles think they can make enough moves on the defensive side and OL to get back to the Super Bowl again possibly with 5 next year at QB? If not, I would say the Eagles should strongly look at the possibility of moving him to one of several posts including Minn, AZ, etc. for a high-pick this year and maybe another decent pick next year.
