McNabb & Mikell added to pro bowl
Donovan McNabb and Quintin Mikell were both officially added to the NFC pro bowl roster this morning to replace Darren Sharper and Drew Brees. The Eagles now have 9 players in the pro bowl, the most since 2004 when they sent 10.
It's interesting to see Mikell make the pro bowl this year when he really didn't have his best season, after getting snubbed last year when he would probably have been a deserving pro bowler. This is the first pro bowl for the former undrafted free agent.

Wow...
2 more players that don’t deserve to go.
…and this coming from one of the 3 people on the planet that has a Quintin Mikell jersey.
ehhhhhh
Congrats 2 Q goin 2 his first pro-bowl but i dont think he really deserves it all. I wish his first time goin was actually earned by playing great and not being a replacement 4 sumbody. He had great stats in the tackle dept. but his overall tackling at the end of the year was pretty shoddy at best, he is a completely different player without BDAWK 2 lean on.
The "I" Word
Is anybody else not happy about this?
The more Eagles playing in this game increases the likelihood of an Eagle getting _______. (Not going to say it)
I know I’m going to be watching this game, but not to cheer on the NFC or my favorite Eagles… I’m going to be watching to pray that all the Eagles get through the game without getting _______.
meh they are professional athletes

Your point?
Stewart Bradley was a professional athlete during “Flight Night.” That didn’t protect him from shredding his ACL while running.
Jamaal Jackson was a professional athlete during the Broncos game.
I know what you mean… they have to just go out and play the game without worrying about these things. But as a fan, I worry about these things. It’s a pointless game. I’d rather not see one of our best players go down in an exhibition game. That’s all.
I hope this is all a moot point after the fact, but either way… having 9 or 10 players in the Pro Bowl is nothing to get excited about imo. It’s more a negative than a positive. All these “Pro Bowlers” are going to make it more difficult down the road when it comes to contracts and money.
my point is you can’t be afraid to let players play because of injury. Stewart Bradley is even a better example should players not practice for fear of injury? It’s just dumb it’s what they are paid to do.

Any theories on how Q make the probowl?
Didn’t stand out at all this season, nor does the guy really have any name recognition. What was his competition (besides Sharper obviously)?
i'm assuming cause there must not be much better talent out there at the SS position?
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!
Maybe lack of talent (like Joe_D said) and maybe all the articles that got written up last year about how he got snubbed. Maybe he also had all his twitter followers vote for him 1000 times each. Who knows.
Let the beasting begin.

And somehow
Sheldon is still snubbed… Jesus Christ.
About 10 minutes ago, I was pondering my own existence. Then I decided that it didn't matter.
Actually
wouldn’t that mean Newman’s making it? Or..is he already a starter?

Dammit, Sheldon deserves this. What a crock of shit.

Don't care!!
As an Eagles fan, i don’t really care if non of them make it. It’s great for them but not for me. If i wanted to see them in another game after championship week, it would be in the Superbowl. Nontheless, I will say kudos to the NFL for putting the game on during down time. I may actually watch it now. EAGLE 2011 SUPERBOWL. mark my words.
Congrats to all of them.
Although, a big “Wtf?” at Q’s pro bowl berth. Still, he deserved it last year, and didn’t get it. So, I’m happy for him.
The absense of Dawk......
Sheldon Brown, Mikell and Dawk all played together for at least 4-5 years. They all played off each other. Even Lito played with them a few years before Samuels. That was a tight knit group. They knew each other and each others moves. With the absence of Dawk, Mikell and Sheldon both have tried to fill that leadership void…and they were without a steady player at Dawks old position. Missing that little piece of the puzzle probably had something to do with their play this year. Both tried to be more aggressive and got burnt a couple of times. Samuels got burnt a couple of times. Dawk wasn’t there to provide any backup. Sean Jones did a decent job, but he’s no Dawk…..neither is Macho. I think the Eagles DBs deserve some credit for what the did with a weak safety position…..and a weakened LB group. The blitz wasn’t used as much as it has been in the past which meant the QB had more time to throw,,,,,,plus TEs were killing the Eagles most of the year. I’m still amazed that they ended up 11-5. And I’m sure you’ll see some good competition for the safety position come training camp. This year the team was banged up and shot to hell. Now that rookies and first year players have a whole year under their belt, it will be a better defense next year.
whose a member on stupid espn insider i wanna know wat the retards r saying about mcnabb to vikings if favre retires aagain i hate there nfl analyst
Insider:
Update: Apparently our speculation on McNabb-to-the-Vikes has started a bit of chatter on Twitter. Stay tuned.
Have we seen the last game for Donovan McNabb in Philly? Unlike teammate — and fellow Pro Bowl sub — Quintin Mikell, McNabb will not be available to the press on Monday following his promotion to the Pro Bowl, which makes you wonder …
If he is done with the Eagles, it could dovetail nicely with Brett Favre’s last game in Minnesota, in that Vikings head coach Brad Childress — who coached McNabb for seven years — might be in the market for a veteran replacement, given the nausea-inducing alternatives (Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels). We think Vikes fans would take a little of McNabb’s Willie Beamen impression over those two 10 times out of 10.
In addition to the Vikes, what about the 49ers? Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News wrote last week that it would make sense, with the Niners sending a second-round pick in return. We’re not so sure it makes sense for the Niners; in addition to destroying Alex Smith’s newly found confidence, it’d also more than likely involve an installation of the West Coast offense, yet another scheme overhaul.
NFL Insider Adam Schefter emailed in Monday morning with some insight as to why the Vikings are a particularly intriguing choice:
Connections aplenty for Donovan in Minny
ADAM SCHEFTER: “Been waiting on this scenario for years. So if Favre does walk away — and the thinking today, six months before it really matters is he will — then Minnesota would be expected to make a play for Donovan McNabb. Why not? The Eagles have three quarterbacks, McNabb’s value might never be higher than it is now, and just remember this: Vikings coach Brad Childress would love to be able to go from 4 to 5 if Favre retired. And as if that weren’t enough, the Vikings quarterbacks coach, Kevin Rogers, was McNabb’s quarterbacks coach at Syracuse. So ponder that one in the days and weeks ahead.”
Why would
The Niners install the WC offense if McNabb went there? The whole reason why he is getting shipped is because he’s not suited for it. He needs to be ina situation like Favre with a strong run game where he’s not asked to throw 60% of the snaps
E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!!!
Huh?
Mcnabb is getting shipped? That is news to me. I thought this was all speculation. I guess Reid already saying twice Mcnabb is staying is not good enough for some of these reporters and writers.

People are getting so bent out of order onthis “pro bowl” thing this year….just realize that this years pecking for alot of players is due to the fact that the game is being played a week before the Super bowl and regardless of what you think about if “x” player had a ProBowl year, SOMEBODY has to play in it….and there are players deemed as “alternates” for this very reason….
Did 5 have a probowl caliber year??…probably not….neither did Mikell….but think about this year and the circumstances surrounding it…..hell, VINCE YOUNG and DAVID GARRARD are Probowlers in the AFC so take this all with a grain of salt….that is all…
Would people pay more attention to the Pro Bowl
If it was played in the preseason? (Say, one week before the preseason games start)
The fact is, nobody pays any attention to the game itself (can’t remember a single result) and like this year, many players bow out so the roster ends up meaning nothing.
