As all other fans, I've read with interest the debate about who should be the eagles qb next season. Most of these discussions center around who is the better qb between the two and who gives us the best shot at a SB next year.
It seems to me that this debate is only part of the full analysis. McNabb's contract will count for about $20mill against the cap next year. Now if we have a cap next year, trading mcnabb frees up a huge amount of cap room. Even if we don't have a cap, trading mcnabb frees up a huge amount of real money.
So to truly evaluate the situation, we have to consider McNabb or Kolb and one or 2 huge FA aquisitions we could make by trading mcnabb. Of course draft picks also may need to be included in the analyses.
I don't have much to offer here, but I'd love to hear the thoughts from some of the experts on this board. Thanks.
