Thoughts and ruminations about a Blockbuster trade

Ok, well I suppose this is the kind of post that will be coming up alot, but I will not be posting one of these everyday as the flavor of the week pops up for trade discussion. I will keep it fairly simple, the way I see our offseason going is as follows:

1. Trade Vick to highest Bidder

2. Draft LB or Safety first round, best available, I am looking at either Taylor Mays from USC or Navaro Bowman from PSU in the first round

3. Trade McNabb for either picks, which will be used to step up in the 2nd round to draft and OL who has dropped from the first round, or for a play making DE (i.e. Julius Peppers or Ray Edwards-if Favre retires)

4. Extend Kolb, Avant, Weaver and Brown

5. Cut Reggie Brown, Kevin Curtis, Alex Smith and Max Jean-Gilles (I know more people will be cut, but these are the "major" losses)

I Know there will have to be some pick wrangling to go along with #3 to get both sides to agree, while I think the trade McNabb for Peppers/Edwards is a long shot (player for player mega-deals stopped happening after the Portis for Bailey trade), it is a trade that works out well for both teams which need to move on.

While I agree that putting Kolb in as the starting QB will force us to take a step back at that position, our offense will move the ball, what our team needs are some playmakers on the Defensive side of the ball, and the ability to get pressure when only rushing the front 4!
