Eagles complete practice squad

The Eagles finished off their practice squad, adding three players who played with them throughout the preseason and signing linebacker Jeremy Leman, who was with Carolina throughout the preseason.

Joining Leman on the practice squad are fullback Marcus Mailei, (safety) Reshard Langford and cornerback Jack Ikegwuonu.

per Spadaro

Oh, happy day JIBTA! Me, I'm glad Mailei cleared waivers too. In fact, they managed to get every one I was hoping for, I even expect big things from TE Rob Myers. I like this club and gosh darn it I'm ready for some football!

The skinny on Jeremy Leman:

Well, he’s an All-American for one thing.

The 6-2, 240-pound Leman was originally signed by the Minnesota Vikings as a rookie free agent in 2008, but was released by the Vikings prior to the start of the regular season. He signed with the Panthers during the 2009 off-season and saw action in all four preseason games, registering 19 tackles.

A native of Champaign, IL, Leman was a four-year starter at Illinois and finished his collegiate career with 407 tackles and 8.5 sacks. He earned first-team All-America honors following his senior season in 2007.

well done

This is the most pleased i have ever been with the practice squad..

I really like
Danny Amendola, Maleil, and Myers. Myers reminds me a lot of Celek…

I am very curious to see what shapes up with the receiver corp…
Trade for a blocking TE? Can’t carry 7……that is dumb.

That's what I am thinking. . .

Baskett or R. Brown traded for a big backup TE who can block and has decent enough hands to catch a couple of balls in the red zone. I am liking the lineup a lot, actually. If Bradley and Ingram hadn’t gone down for the year, I’d be loving the lineup.

Ben Patrick?

Read on ESPN that the Eagles picked him up. Has anyone heard anything about this?

I was a little surprised that Amendola made it to the practice squad

Don’t get me wrong, I’m really happy he’s still on the team. I’m just surprised that another team didn’t pick him up and put him on an active roster. Does anyone think that a UFL team will try to make an offer to any of these guys? In the long run, it could be beneficial to a player to jump from a practice squad and play on a UFL team to show what they can do in an actual game situation.

Sometimes it's just fun to take the family for a spin around the lake in the old boat. Even if it's not your family or your boat, and they're screaming for you to stop.

I thought NFL rules prohibitted teams from signing players who

were on IRd the year before, as that consitutes a year of service. I guess I was wrong about that.
