Sigh
He is a good guy. This could mean Bryan Smith stays.

So What...
Smith played better then him in the pre-season, and in this case I’d rather take the better player then the better guy since Smith has done nothing to show me that he is a bad guy. The only reason why I though Klecko might make it over him is because he could fill-in at FB if Weaver got hurt.

Fuck...
He was a warrior, I wish him nothing but success, I’m probably going to Temple for Grad. School and I’m proud that he and his dad went there. The guys a true mench(yiddish for man). I think he could easily sign with someone who needs DT help like Kansas City or Tennessee.

sad to see him go… but not too surprised. We have 3 good DTs and we’re going to probably be keeping a good amount of DEs.

Anyone have ideas on
why they made this announcement separately from the rest of their cuts. Is it to give the guy a chance to be picked up before other teams decide on their final 53? Or is this story just leaked early? Or is something else in the works?
"Luis Zedejas, I kick field goals. Am I nervous, yeah I suppose. Win the game by hittin the mark, this game is over before it starts."

Regarding good guys, Booker is as cool as they get if you ever heard an interview with him, but bottom line is how you perform. Klecko is not bad, but since we have DE’s that can move inside, we will likely only keep 3 tackles.
You can argue that his time spent here as a FB was wasted, as he is a much more natural DT, but I am willing to bet that it was a valuable experience. I hope he lands on his feet.

Bryan Smith...
Probably survived. Not sure about that one. I like what Klecko gives you.
OK, Bryan, let’s see something…

Brian better be worth it. I have yet to see anything from him.

You guys are acting shocked that Andy Reid isn’t quite yet willing to let go of someone they spent a early pick on just last year. How many guys have we kept around in a similar situation to Smith’s that didn’t do much for a year or two that ended up being very productive?

Bryan Smith still isn't 100% safe...
The Klecko cut could be a result of having to too much talent at other various positions (ie… WR, QB, etc.). I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Eagles keep 4 QB’s and/or 7 WR’s if they can’t get deals done for Brown and Feeley by the cut deadline, and then look still look to trade them after.

I didn’t say he was safe, and he’s obviously been cut now, I was just saying that no one should act shocked if he stayed on the team simply to develop him. However, it makes sense that he’s gone given the insane depth we have at the position and the fact that other players provide the versatility they possess.

Dag, son
You nailed this.

I knew it had to happen, but I was hoping it wouldn’t. I’m sure Dan will find success on another team. I wish him the best.

too bad Dan’s talent was wasted on the offensive side last year…

dont dismiss the possiblity of keeping Josh Gaines. Bryan Smith’s job isn’t safe yet. Gaines shows some upside.

I liked Gaines too, but he has no shot.
