Eagles Release Three Players
According to the Philadelphia Eagles website, the final roster cuts have begun and three players received the axe this afternoon:
The Eagles cut three players Friday afternoon, releasing tight end Eugene Bright, defensive tackle Willie Williams and linebacker Curtis Gatewood. The team's roster now stands at 72. The Eagles must cut 19 players between now and Saturday's 6 p.m. deadline to reach the league-mandated 53-man roster limit.
No surprises with these initial cuts. None of the three players made much of an impression during the four preseason games. This move leaves the Eagles with five defensive tackles, four tight ends, and eight linebackers on the current roster. Who will be next on the chopping block? Stay tuned as the roster cuts continue.
Thanks to KingMcNabb5 for breaking the news.

I happen to enjoy all of your posts, and always take the time to read your “Taking Stock of…” articles, and I mean no offense to you, but I always get bashed for re-posting stuff and just didn’t know if you knew that I had already posted this.

Thanks, King. I actually have pretty spotty internet where I am right now, so I unfortunately was unable to view your post before I posted this. I’d bump you to the main page, but Jason is on vacation for the day and I don’t have those privileges.
Matt Schobel and Lorenzo Booker are still employed as professional football players. That ain’t right.

This isn’t the time to add a difference-making player; it is the time to add a player who can help make a difference.
Classic Spadaro quote
"What did it feel like? That collision, I didn't feel nothing, because he was pretty much defenseless. It was like running through a cardboard box. Seriously. Cardboard box."- Sheldon Brown on his pounding of Reggie Bush in the '06 Playoffs
I remember when I hear about Bright
We was big athletic and strong and a “blocking” TE I was very excited … then I hear that he is a converted DE and got very sad that he had no chance of beating out Schobel for the TE spot
Let's get it.
