Eagles Sign WR Norwood to Practice Squad
According to an official release by Eagles, the team has just inked wide receiver Jordan Norwood to the practice squad. Norwood fills a space left vacant by WR/KR Danny Amendola's departure to the St. Louis Rams. Here is what PE.com correspondent Chris McPherson gathered about the young Penn State product:
The 5-11, 179-pound rookie free agent spent the preseason with the Cleveland Browns before being released in the final roster cutdown. The 22-year-old Norwood had 158 receptions for 2,015 yards and 13 touchdowns at Penn State. The Honolulu native caught 41 passes for 637 yards and had six touchdowns his senior year.
According to his NFL.com Draft Profile, the scouting report on Norwood is "adequate height and quickness for a slot receiver. Concentration good enough to adjust to high or low balls. Best on crossing and underneath routes from the slot, is willing to go over the middle or up high to make the catch despite his slight frame. Sets up the corner for the skinny post when outside."

Cool
I liked this guy when he was with State … I’m glad we’re giving him a look see, possibly so training camp fodder for next year.
I’m probably biased as a Penn State fan, but I think Norwood can be a decent player in the league. He has great hands and works the slot really well — sort of a skinnier, less polished version of Jason Avant. With the WR depth on this team, I’m not sure if he’ll ever get his shot here, but I wish him the best of luck.
Do we really need another slot receiver?
I mean, isn’t that part of the reason Ammendola was on the practice squad? Let’s try to get somebody who can operate on the outside and replace that creaky old basterd named Curtis.
