Peter King's on crack

Look, I don't mind him not picking Philly to win the division.  One can make a strong argument about that, especially looking over the early problems of the O-line and losses on D.  I am ok with him not picking us to make the playoffs, although his 9-7 record underrepresents where I see us at the end of the year.  However, he has Philly 3rd BEHIND FREAKIN DALLAS!!!  That's a Dallas team we kicked the crap out of at the end of last year and all we did was get better while they didn't. Once again since they're Dallas we are all supposed to bow to special ed case of a coach and degenerate as an owner.  Bite me Peter King and I'll be happy to see you eat your words at the end of the year.

I love how he put the Giants on top…with no WRs to keep the DBs occupied how is that running game going to get going?

by ssean2266 on Sep 2, 2009 3:00 PM EDT reply actions

He Knows Nothing

However, the Giants will successfully throw the ball this year. The question for them is will they be able to move the ball in the air against top 5 defenses who can shut down the run. He also thinks the NFC Central is a better division than the East. That is just ridiculous. The East and the NFC will boil down to the war of attrition between the Giants, Eagles, and one other suprise team that will pop up. The healthiest team will win. If it boils down to McNabb leading the Eagles in a 2 minute drive with everything on the line I don’t like your chances. He has never been able to do it before.

i’d rather be in third in the preseason standings and first in the post season standings than the other way around.

Cowboys! Ha!

I actually like that the Cowboys are ranked ahead of us. This way it will feel that much more gratifying to rub it in all their delusional fan’s faces when we dominate them…again. O and btw, Jerry World sucks…can’t wait to see how much the repair bill is when that giant monstrosity of his breaks down.

Agree yosh

Not to mention King is flip-flopping (or updating as new data comes in, if you will).

There was a ranking he did after the draft over the summer that had the Eagles No. 6 in the NFL, behind the Giants but ahead of Dallas & Wash. I want to say he even took us up as high as No. 3 at one point, but that might have been someone else.

Steelers and Patriots should be ahead of us. There are some other teams that are debateable, but the honest truth is a preseason ranking or midseason power ranking is worth the paper it’s printed on.

As we learned last season, if 9-7 (or 9-6-1) is good enough to get you in the playoffs, you can get your shot at the Super Bowl, and therefore winning it all.

Interesting

I say get ‘em off the bandwagon. I’d rather not have the crushing weight of national expectations … we Philly fans put enough on our team as it is.

I could see several NFC teams being trouble, but I find it highly implausible the Eagles are not one of the six best. There are too many aces in the hole/reasons they’ll get better over the course of the year.

good

I feel lik every year the Eagles get so hyped in the preseason by the writers saying their gonna win the Super Bowl and all that jazz. Would rather not have that pressure and attention.

I think they’ve been getting hyped too much, and I definitely want the football press to fall back a bit. I won’t go so far to say I hope they lose one of the first two, but if they did and people got off the Eagles’ jocks, that would be fine by mine.

I really don’t need to have Vick’s every move and McNabb’s every facial twinge and Westbrook’s every visit to the trainer’s room analyzed by national know-nothings for 6 days in between games.

I actually think expectations got to Dallas last year, and they should fare a little better in the post-T.O. glare even though they are less talented.

HA funny I was having an arguement with a fellow Cowboys fan about how Romo is a top 3 QB

haha

Cowboy fans are so delusional.

Surpsising

considering that Peter King is one of the few whom I really trust when it comes to news/stats/etc. Meh, I like it better when we’re under the radar.

He was all on our jocks not that long ago

It took months to wipe up the drool after our draft.

I guess since his BFF Stewart Bradley is hurt, he’s scaling back his predictions a bit. No big.

It's really no big deal...

We lost JJ, Dawk, Bradley, and our O Line still hasn’t played to gether yet, so sure… some writers are going to look at that and “Uhhh… 9-7.”

Looking at the schedule though, I’d be curious exactly where he sees those 7 losses.

Bye, Big Stew and JJ :(

he also has the bears and packers in the nfc champ. game

….what a joke, are you kidding me…i usually get my bogus sports news from espn though which isn’t much better

bears, packers? we could blow them out easily, jay cutler and aaron rodgers suck

eff you we winning anyway

by eagleswin on Sep 2, 2009 5:16 PM EDT up reply actions

jay cutler and aaron rodgers suck

Whoa there. Aaron Rogers is easily one of the best young QB in the NFL. IN his first season he started, he threw 4,000 yards, 28 TD’s, only 13 Ints, a 7.5 YPA and a 93.8 QB rating. I also wouldn’t call Jay Cutler a crappy QB, either. He’s a younger Favre: Lots of TD’s, lots of picks.

Oh, and that 4,000 yards thing? McNabb never did that. Just saying.

RIP Jim Johnson, best ever.

Peter King is a Joke

we were in the NFC Championship Game last year and if you compare rosters I can’t see how you can say we got worse, and we play the AFC West

absolutely

said the same thing above, though not quite as deftly

3 out of 4 teams in the championship games last year he has missing the playoffs....

only has the steelers staying in at 11-5. but has the eagles, ravens, and cardinals all missing the postseason and each going 9-7.

I can see the cardinals going 11-5 this year, i mean the giants went 10-6 or 9-7 the year they won the superbowl (dont exactly remember) and after that they had a better season at 12-4.
now the cards got a taste of the SB and are probably hungrier, i dont see the seahawks taking that division over them.

No Biggies

I’d rather coming from behind than looking over the shoulder. Ranking behind Dallas… now, there’s a challenge to go out and top the NFC East. Almost disrespectful being rank third! Tear it out and put it up in the locker room, great motivational stuff.

by Outpost on Sep 2, 2009 11:34 PM EDT reply actions

This Is Probably A Good Thing

He picked us to go to the Super Bowl last year, and we didn’t get there…if he’s picking against us, then maybe we have a better shot lol.

Tony Romo...why so serious?
