The Saints will lose because of this...
We all know the Saints' most dangerous player is Drew Brees. That guy can rack up passing yards faster than Andy Reid's calorie intake. As great as Brees is, he is almost a different player in away games. Let's look at some stats.
at Washington(L 24-29) : 22/33-216 yards-1 TD- 2 INT- QB Rating 69.8
at Denver(L 32-34): 39/48- 421 yards-1 TD- 0 INT- QB Rating 110.2
at Carolina(L 7-30): 21/39-231 yards- 0 TD- 1 INT- QB Rating 61.0
at Atlanta(L 20-34: 31/58- 422 yards- 2 TD- 3 INT- QB Rating 66.9
at Kansas City(W 30-20): 25-36- 266 yards- 1 TD- 1 INT- QB Rating 88.4
at Tampa Bay(L 20-23): 25-47- 296 yards- 2 TD-3 INT- QB Rating 60.2
at Chicago(L 24-27): 24-43- 232 yards- 2 TD- 2 INT- QB Rating 67.2
at Detroit( W42-7): 30-40-351 yards- 2 TD- 0 INT- QB Rating 117.8
The Saints went 2-6.
That gives him an average of 80.2 QB rating. His 3 good away games came against Denver(8-8) who finished in the bottom 5 in every defensive category, Kansas City(2-14) who finished in the bottom 5 in every category, and the Detroit Lions( 0-16) the worst team in all of sports.
I am not even going to count last weeks game. I don't care what all you Saints homers are saying! IT WAS AGAINST THE LIONS AT HOME FOR GOD'S SAKES!
The only way the Saints can win is if Brees has a heck of a game. With what history tell us, that is not going to happen against this Eagles defense currently ranked number 1 in yards allowed, 4th last year.
It's probably not just him. The Saints probably just play poorly on the road as a team in which makes him play worse as well.
All in all, what I'm saying is the Saints will lose come this Sunday. All Kolb/Garcia has to do is have an average game and our defense will take care of the rest. Kolb's career is basically on the line with this game. If he sucks he is not going to make it as an NFL QB, and if he is good, he is our Future QB. I would think he will play his best in this game especially since he got to practice with the first team all week.
Eagles win 31-21. Brees goes for 260 yards 2 TD- 2 INT- QB Rating 71.0
I want to see THIS happen again so baaad.

Who is the fool that voted for the Saints?
jk it’s your opinion.
Felix is better than Brian. You can call me FIBTB.
Maybe it was one of these guys...
Seriously though… Has anyone taken a look at the Saints defense? I count 2 players (maybe 3) that would start for us. That’s it – 2 or 3.
Here’s their depth chart – http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/teams/depth?team=nor&formationId=16
People see Brees throwing 6 TD’s, and a hurt McNabb, and quickly decide the outcome based on that. Is Brees outstanding? Yup. But this Eagles TEAM is far and away better than this Saints team, and I just don’t see how ONE guy has the Eagles winning this game out of that group. Shame on you, Jaws (who also took the Panthers last week, by the way).
Bye, Big Stew and JJ :(
1...
We know this. Drew has a tendency to be up and down. But he varies between phenomenal and average, rather than good and bad. Average might still be good enough.
Or it might not. That’s why they play the games.

you call a qb rating in the 60s average?
Most will call that bad regardless of who the QB is.

this is a tough game to call,
but, I wouldn’t say the Saints looked dominating against the Lions and Reggie Bush absolutely sucked. I think he put the ball on the ground 3×.
That video
I could watch that video for atleast 24 hours straight and not get sick of it.

i could watch the rest of the game on a loop for the rest of my life.

That’s funny, because I’m looking forward to Sunday, when the Eagles win and we never have to hear from you again.

No McNabb
Not having McNabb as our signal-caller is just making this game so uncertain for me… if he was in I would be extremely confident… still I agree our team is much better as a whole, I just think QB’s can single-handidly lose games.

what the fuck
You guys are so full of misplaced pride it’s ridiculous. I can already tell you’re prepared not to give any credit to any team who beats us this year. I don’t know if it matters what the Brees home/road split is. It’s not like we’re going to be scoring any touchdowns on Sunday if Kolb is starting. He does not fucking know how to: a) score points b) convert a third down c) avoid a pass rush d) throw the ball away e) make adjustments at the line f) throw a pass in the flat g) - well.. I could go through the entire alphabet if I wanted.

From now until after Sunday (when Kolb will certainly have had a fair shot to lead this team), I declare that any statement like the one above must also be accompanied by the following addendum…
“I base all this on one half of football a year ago in a game against the 2nd best defense in the NFL, and another game in which Kolb came in as a backup in a blowout.”
Agreed? Good.

After reading all the Kolb bashing
I figured I would youtube him. Im just as nervous to see him start. I think his problems are with his decision making and not with actual skill. Anyway here is a pretty decent highlight video. Not good camera quaility though.
a lot of his picks are a result of a WR allowing passes to bounce off them into the air.
GCobb has been bashing Kolb hard core, I think he has influenced a lot of poeples thinking.
Bleed green, or don't bleed at all!
The Carolina game shows that we can run the football very effectively. Westbrook, McCoy, and Weaver I think will turn out to be one of the best tandems in football. If Donovan doesn’t play, we don’t need Kolb to be great. Just doing average and not turning over the ball will be fine. That is as long as Reid stays committed to running the ball, our offense will be able to move it against a very mediocre defense.
SAINTS PLAYER IM WORRIED ABOUT...................
Im very very very very worried about Darren Sharper this week. This guy has made a career off of feasting on young QBs like Kolb. He just knows how to bait them into throwing picks, Kolb is goin to have to know where he is on the field at all times to avoid backbreaking picks which Sharper has made his mo throughout his career.
does anyone want to see buckley play as bad as I do?? I think he was so fun to watch in the preseason and he has no fear! I want to see him out there on Sunday!!! If you’re gonna give Kolb a shot, why not Buckley and Gibson!! GO BIRDS!

So hearing all these things that the media is saying..Say’n how the LAST 2 SEASONS, Drew Brees has been a beast and the Saints offense is unstoppable. I pondered..Yea, the Saints offense HAVE put up a lot of pts in the past. Why is that? Brees is a good QB and they have nice weapons but there’s somethin else.! So I searched for the Saints 2007 and 2008 schedule to see who they played. I encourage u all to take a look at their LAST 2 season schedules and see who they played and ask ur self..“How many of these teams really had a formidable defense!” Able to constantly create pressure on the QB via blitzing and OR with the front 4.
