Gibson Turning Heads at Practice
Rookie wide receiver Brandon Gibson has been fighting to get some playing time during the regular season, and certainly helped his cause with his performance at practice over the past few days. During reps today with quarterback Michael Vick, Gibson was able to make not one, but two fantastic one-handed grabs. When questioned after practice, Vick was quoted as saying:
"I've never seen that," Vick said. "Let's hope that once he gets out there in a game he can make those same types of catches and I think he will."
Although Gibson didn't receive any playing time during week one's matchup against the Carolina Panthers, the recent release of wideout Hank Baskett has narrowed the depth chart from seven receivers to six. Gibson plans to make the most of this opportunity, and has been continuing the lights-out performance he displayed during preseason, where he led the receiving corps with 12 catches for 123 yards and a touchdown.
"Obviously, I think they drafted me for a reason," Gibson said. "I think they expect a lot of things out of me. The only thing I can do is practice hard and do what they ask. I'm getting better each and every day...I'm just going to practice hard and do the best that I can, so it gives me the best opportunity to get on the field."
Hopefully, we'll be able to see some of Gibson's developing skills during Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints, as his terrific work ethic is bound to lead to a good on-the-field performance.

really glad
that we didn’t cut this guy…he looks like a gem
Allright kids, the word of the day is "Truculence"
We Have a Winner
I seriously think Gibson is that hidden stand out WR that the eagles needednever seemed to get late in the draft. Thank god we did not cut him.

The Eagles will need someone to step up this Sunday for sure!
Problem is, who’s going to get him the ball when he’s out running his routes? Kevin Kolb is going to be running around like a chicken with its head chopped off and you won’t be able to get Garcia in there soon enough to stop the bleeding against the Saints! Good luck with all that this weekend!
Go back under your bridge.

Vick has seen one-handed catches before...
I was at the game in Atlanta between the Falcons and the Saints a few years back (when Joe Horn was still with the Saints) and Joe made a one-handed grab along the sideline in that game.
I guess Vick was too busy killing dogs behind the team’s bench to notice that one though, huh?
wow such over Confidence from a team who just beat the LIONS
you know i was over at your saints blog earlier..
and i didnt see any eagles fans going over there and being a complete ass hat like this guy.
and we have the reputation of shitty fans?
"Never give in, never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.
I knew nothing about this guy when they drafted him
So, on draft day I thought this guy would just be a camp body who got cut. I’m really hoping this guy turns out to be a good receiver. After all the years of crappy receivers, the Eagles have the potential to possibly have the best corp of receivers in the NFL in the next two years if Maclin and Gibson meet expectations along with DeSean Jackson and Jason Avant. Not to mention Celek and if Ingram can come back from injury this could really be an amazing offense.
Sometimes it's just fun to take the family for a spin around the lake in the old boat. Even if it's not your family or your boat, and they're screaming for you to stop.

Merril and Dave Spadaro called Gibson during their online portion of the NFL Draft, and you could have sworn this kid was talking to a suicide hotline. I mean, it sounded like he had been on a ledge and ready to jump before someone drafted him. Understandable, because being on an 0-11 team doesn’t exactly help your draft chances, regardless of having been the best receiver on his team.
He’s coming into the league with a chip on his shoulder, and seems like he is humble to boot. I really hope this kid shines- we need more guys like this. Don’t get me wrong- I love DeSean’s ability, and his antics, but its always nice to have somebody with quiet strength.
I really try not to get excited over guys who do well in pre season because it really doesn’t mean anything. I can’t help but to think this kid’s gona end up as one of those later round under the radar recievers who develops into a stud. I try not to get excited but I can’t help it haha
Hope He's Good at Special Teams
That’s where he needs to earn his roster spot for now. Looks like he might be good in in the future at WR too though
I don't remember the site...
…but I was looking at a bunch of promo videos of the guys we drafted right after the draft. I remember looking at Maclin’s and Ingram’s and thinking, “OK, let’s see if they can translate to the Pro’s.” Then I see Gibson’s and I had to look again at what round he came in. As I recall that video was very impressive and it seemed like he should have gone a lot earlier.
Andy’s got plenty of proven weapons to put out there on Sunday, but it sure would be nice for the O to take this new Ferrari out to see what’s under the hood. Plus, if the guy is on fire like the article says, maybe AR will think to see if the flame is catching. I’d be thrilled to see him and Jason Babin both get a little time this week.
But hey, I’m not the coach, and like I said, AR has proven weapons to field. Who would dare tweak that defense?
