Jeff Garcia speaks about his role and return
On a conference call to officially introduce him as an Eagle, Jeff Garcia detailed the series of events that led to his return to Philly. He was on his way to do some on air work for NFL Network when his agent called...
"He mentioned that the Eagles were interested in signing me to come back and I had the driver turn around and take me back home," said Garcia, "I know that this is a different situation, the circumstances are different, the situation is different, but for my family and myself, it is definitely an exciting time, an exciting opportunity. I've already exchanged messages with Donovan.I am excited about coming back to the Eagles, but I am not excited that it comes at the expense of his injury.
Garcia also said that he enjoyed his first stint with the Eagles.
"Just to be able to come back to an organization that I have such memories with and have had a great experience with in the past, and to be a part of a team that seems to have the direction that everybody would want to be a part of, whether it's for a week or two weeks or an entire season, I'm excited about the opportunity."
He made it clear that he was here to backup Kevin Kolb
"I'm OK with whatever helps the team win," he said. "That's really the main thing here. Kevin is a guy who has been with the team now into his third year. He has been able to develop and learn the system. This is a great opportunity for him to step on to the field and get the opportunity to get some snaps and get an entire week of practice with the first team, which is always important.

+10000 respect to garcia
i was absolutely giddy when i got a text from espn that they signed him. we will always remember what he did in 2006.
…by the way could you imagine a wildcat formation with two of our quarterbacks???…perhaps i’m getting ahead of myself
Garcia is a winner
if Kevin Kolb would have been drafted by another team in the 4th round (when he should have gone), he might not even be in the league at this point. He’s never shown even the tiniest bit of potential, he will never be an effective starting NFL QB. Garcia knows the offense, and more importantly, knows how to win!

It was pretty well known that the Jags were going to take him in the 2nd. He wouldn’t have lasted until the 4th round.
The Jags aren’t exactly “the gold standard” for picking QBs.

russel just went down
and so glad we got Gracia another great move by the Eagles, i always had respect for him a true underdog
Great games tonight!
I sincerely hope McNabb can play next week. Guy’s a warrior!
See y’all next Sunday and hope all the players leave injury free!
GEAUX S88S!! Konichiwa!!
For the record . . .
Westbrook saved Garcia’s ass after the QB tried to piss away that second Giants game and his rag arm probably cost them the playoff game in New Orleans. He’s a good backup, but let’s not start tongue-kissing the guy just yet.
Definitely a class act
Sounds like he knows he really might just be here for a week or two and has no expectations. Hopefully he proves he still got it – at least for a team that might pick him up after we let him go. But I definitely think he is a lot more accurate, experienced and knows how to win… Kolb… meh, I just don’t see it.

Well, with the defense looking
this good, under other circumstances, I would say the QB, whoever it is, needs to turn in a Dilfer like performance. But Brees looks awfully good and we are probably going to need some offense to beat this Saints this week.

The D needs to put the pressure on Brees so he doesn’t have as many opportunities and if he does then our O needs to come back attacking everytime. Both our offense and defense need to show up for this game.
