McDermott and Our Defense and Yesterdays game...
Well the defense was amazing against the Panthers as we all know and alot of that has to do with McDermott putting the players in a position to excel. So far in the post JJ era we have been very worried but at the same time content. However McDermott showed that he can be a great play caller and that he can lead our defense and showed alot of promise, its not JJ but its still damn good.
Trent Cole was a beast, he was in Jakes face the entire game, he had 1 sack and 1 FF. Thats a damn good start for him.
Howard also did pretty well he had 2 sacks and a FF. He is a very good situational player.
Akeem Jordan did good he had a sack and an INT.
Sheldon Brown did great with 2 INT's and didnt allow any TD's.
All in all we had 5INT's, and 2 FR's on defense. and We only gave up 1 INT and 1 fumble on Offense making us +5 on turnovers... as long as that continues then we should keep winning.
Yesterday was a great day.

TRUE...............
Minus Mcnabbs injury yesterday was a great day and win, especially the D. However im not getting to excited. Not to take anything away from the D because they were relentless like a pack of wild dogs but i think they were up against a guy who is kinda lost right now in delhomme. The real test will be this weekend against possibly the best Offense and air attack in the NFL. if we can hold the Saints to 21 points ( which seems like a pretty daunting task ) i think thats pretty good.

I’m reserving judgment on the defense until we play someone who isn’t Jake Delhomme.

It's a great test next week.
The birds stopped a good running offense yesterday. We’ll see how they do against a great passing offense on Sunday.

I think we do pretty well next week. The panthers only gave up 20 sacks last year, I think we got 5 on them yesterday. Thats 1/4 of their total from last year, and its not like the Panthers didnt play good defenses last year, they played the Giants and the Bears. I know its early, but I think our D will be great this year
