My emotions throughout the carolina game.

So there I was, sitting at home in my black Mcnabb jersey with some sweet and sour chicken waiting for the Eagles 2009 season to start.

Emotion- EXCITED and nervous

The Panthers receive the opening kickoff and proceed down the field for a little over 8 minutes. The drive would have been stopped 10 plays ago but a penalty allowed Carolina to get a free 1st down.  A couple plays later D. Williams runs it into the endzone pretty easily.

Emotion - PISSED

Eagles receive the ball and don't do too much with it besides take up a little time on the clock.  On the next Panthers possession, S. Brown makes a beautiful interception, but the Eagles are only able to turn it into a TD. On the next Panthers possession, Trent Cole sacks Delhomme and V. Abiamiri picks the ball up and dives into the endzone for a TD.

Emotion - ECSTATIC

After the Panthers get the ball back and do nothing with it, they punt to Desean Jackson who decides its a good time for a special teams touchdown.  The Eagles progress through the game intercepting Delhomme on every possession and scoring twice, once on a pass to Celek who muscles through some defenders to find the end zone, and another on a shovel pass to Westbrook for another 6 points.  On Carolina's second to last drive of the half, the Panthers are able to take it down the field one more time and put up 3 points on the Eagles.

Emotion - Not Happy or Mad

Then comes the dreaded play of the game. Mcnabb doesn't see anyone open so he decides to run it in himself. As soon as I seen him get hit on the ground I knew it was bad.

Emotion - The picture says it all

McNabb is able to walk off the field under his own power which was a positive sign, but then again, so was Stew Bradley.  After McNabb went into the locker room, I knew it wasn't going to be good. Kevin Kolb came in the game and didn't really wow me at all.  It was nice to see Mccoy get some playing time so Westbrook could rest himself for next week. I was pretty much on cruise control from here on out.  The game seemed to be well in the bag and all we had to do was not let the Panthers get too much going and we would be fine.  In the back of mind, I was worried about McNabb missing significant time from the regular season. The last exciting part of the game was when Mcdermott brought out the 1st team D to stop a 4th and goal.  It was a nice middle finger to all the nay sayers who thought that this team might struggle on defense without JJ.

Emotion - BITTER SWEET

the baby pic

And the cat comment almost made me die of laughing. And by the way I looked at the highlights and mcnabb wasn’t hurt when he hit the ground. If was the hit 3 seconds later when they hit him on the ground which was obviously a late hit and also should draw a fine. It was a cheap shot. A big cheap shot.
