Return of Runyan
Big Jon could be coming back
ESPN is reporting that longtime Jon Runyan, who was released by the team last February, is asking his surgeon for medical clearence to begin working out for NFL teams interested in him. Andy Reid hasn't ruled out the possibility of Runyan coming back.
Offensive linemen Jason Peters and Stacy Andrews were back on the practice field today, still no word on Shawn. Personally, if Runyan's knee is fine, I'd love to see him back. He'd provide both leadership and depth.
In other news, Quintin Mikell was on the sideline for some of the first team drills this morning, with Sean Jones taking his place. However, from what I'm hearing, Mikell is not injured.

Go get 'em, Andy!
I saw this on PFT as well. It really can’t hurt at this point to roll the dice on Big Run. He: a) knows the offense; b) can be used for depth, if nothing else; c) will push the younger players; d) wants to be in Philly; e) works his ass off and plays through injuries. I would LOVE to see Runyan back in an Eagles uniform!

I second that. I’d love to bring jon back for insurance for (to compete with) Shawn. Definitely can’t hurt.

I made a fanpost last week about how we should grab him
Runyan is a gritty, old school O Line Bully with tons of experience and a Huge heart- I would love him back
RIP JJ

Yeah I read your post and it reminded me he was out there. I’d love to see his tenacity back on the field, playing with the Eagles and not against the Eagles.

As in he doesn’t have clearance yet. He’s old and coming off of surgery. He’s just as much of a question mark as a developing younger guy who’s roster spot he would be taking.

Yes he’s a ? mark before seeing him workout. But if he shows he’s still got it then he’s not just as much a ? mark as a Chris Patrick or Winston Justice because John has over a decade of starting experience and he hasn’t missed a game in 100+ games (can’t remember # off top of my head). So no that comparison isn’t even close in my opinion. Especially not for a contender who wants to win now.
