Eagles Preseason Cuts Begin with OT Patrick
According to the Philadelphia Eagles website, the Eagles have just released offensive tackle Chris Patrick:
The Eagles have released offensive tackle Chris Patrick. The roster now stands at 79 players. The Eagles have until Tuesday at 4 PM (EST) to get to the league-mandated roster limit of 75.
Patrick made the final roster for the playoffs last year after spending the majority of the season on Philadelphia's practice squad. During the 2009 preseason, he served as the third-string left tackle behind Jason Peters and King Dunlap. This move leaves the Eagles with four offensive tackles: Peters, Dunlap, Shawn Andrews, and Winston Justice.
Four more players need to be released this week. Who do you think will be the next Eagle to be let go?

K.McNabb nailed that one.

We can always hope Brown or Baskett gets traded for a #2 TE and the Eagles keep Myers instead of Schobel. Keep hope alive!

I think Gibson makes it a little further honestly.

There is room..
Unless you too are part of the 5 = 4 logic. 4 Cuts, 5 Names… whatever. Counting is difficult.
I mean it’s possible to say of these 5 names 4 will be cut … if for some reason you can’t decide between two players. We personally do not have to make the decision so waffling is allowed.
Unless you too
Unless you are part of the too = two logic. two 2, too also, whatever. Grammar is difficult.

no
i accidently put 5 down instead of 4…
but Gibson has no place on this team, being as all of the other “swing men” OT/G/G guys are better. Mike McGlynn is better and younger than he, and Toupou and Fainaka were drafted this year. And Dallas Reynolds is a good young center from BYU who Andy will keep on the Practice Squad

Who do you guys think the Eagles “redshirt” by stashing him on IR?
by TransplantedFan on Aug 31, 2009 5:09 PM EDT reply actions
redshirts..
these guys go to faux IR
Fenuki Tupou
Bryan Smith
Jack Ikeguanu

all three of these guys
have no room to make the team and would get snatched up in an instant on waivers if we cut them…
Tupou was supposed to be a fringe 2nd round RT
Bryan Smith has shown flashes in preseason
Jack woulda been a 1st rounder if not for the ACL

Vets to Go First (players not eligible for PS)
1) Partick – DONE
2) Schobel – no reason to even bother giving him reps, if necessary we can always call him back
3) Hughes – no shot to make team, will go back to CFL
4) Daniels – Fokou is 5th LB, White & Wilhelm fight for 6th spot. Why sign Gatewood if you are happy with the other guys?
5) Eckel – He will not make the roster, Weaver wont play and unless both Buckley and Booker are hurt he is just taking reps from Mailei who should be on PS.
There are another 15 players who really have no shot but will stick around in case of significant injuries or to evaluate for practice squad.
been saying patrick since week 2...
Trae Williams, Hughes, Eckel and either the AJ trade or Schobel too
