Former Eagles thread

If anyone has any info on former Eagles play, post up. It could be interesting to see how good the decision to let some of these guys walk was.

I'm watching the Giants/Jets game right now and the Giants are picking on Lito Sheppard big time... Not only is Sheppard getting beat, he's getting abused. He got called with 1 pass interference and should've been called with 2 and it's only the first quarter. Looks like the Sheppard we saw last year.

Edit make that 2 PIs in the 1st qtr.. Should've been 4

Off topic: The Giants WRs aren't looking that great. Not terrible, but they need to brush up on fundamentals.

Interesting post

Chris Wilson is running with the chargers first team, its a shame with our TE situation we may have been able to use him.

Steve Smith pulled a Hixon…

Just saying.

Haven’t watched the game, but does that mean he dropped an easy deep ball?

If that last sentence is true

Then maybe we should expect alot of coverage sacks against the Giants this year.

by macjack09 on Aug 29, 2009 9:36 PM EDT reply actions

Maybe... It's still early

We still have to stop their run game which looks pretty good. Boss looked good, Smith ran some good routes – dropped a real long easy long ball. Manningham is going to get a couple balls picked if he doesn’t run better routes, Hixon was OK. They look mediocre overall, Giants fans aren’t too happy but they are definitely over reacting. Lito looked bad out there, real bad.

HAHA

Wow i cant beleive how bad lito looks, the Giants are constantly goin after him, makes me happy we got rid of him. However the Lito playing 2nite looks nothing like the Lito from 3 years ago. I guess thats wat injuries will do 2 u.
Lets not forget one of the greatest plays in Eagles history: Lito Sheppard 100 yd plus int ret for TD to welcome owens back to philly. =] =] =] =] =] =] =] =]

I dont know

I dont have coverage on the game I guess… the lightening destroyed our TV’s…

But if there WR’s look so bad then they will have to become 1 dimentional and our DB’s match up very well against there WR’s so that means we can stack the box a little more than usual meaning if we stop there run then we SHOULD win

by wild_eagle on Aug 29, 2009 10:31 PM EDT reply actions

I think our DB’s have handily outmatched their receivers ever since Plax got an itchy trigger finger.

I’m not worried about the Giants passing game whatsoever, especially when you look at what they can do on the ground. Our first game against the Giants will really put some strain on our LB’s.

Speaking of LB's

why are we going with an unknown(Mays) at MLB which is quite frankly the most important LB position period? I think we need to give that position to someone with experience(gaither) expecially considering this year is looking very promising.

Hmm former Eagle?

Has anyone heard how Donte Stallworth is doing with the Browns? I hear he’s “running over” defenses

no stupid hipocrites to say anything?

any mike vick jokes or murals about “funny” situations are stupid and tasteless. But a stupid joke about the death of a human being goes unnoticed?

when did a human’s life become less than a dog’s?

RIP Jim Johnson. You will truly be missed.

Lighten up a bit. A gigantic mural painted on the entire side of a building verses an anonymous 1 sentence joke on a sports team internet forum?? No comparison my friend.

not funny... Stallworth is suspended

for this season… He will have to save his “running over” of defenses till next year.

Bathroom stallworth

He isnt even worth a bathroom stall anymore, he has dropped to that tree that you see wen your totally wasted and 30 seconds away from soiling yourself.

Hakeem Nicks

put up 6 catches for 144 yards and 2 touchdowns. Did anyone see the game? If so was it skill, a fluke, or a terrible day for the secondary of the Jets?

I was going to post the same question… saw the stats but didn’t see the game. Curious if this kid is for real?

I hope not…

by Smitty2K3 on Aug 30, 2009 1:01 AM EDT up reply actions

just glanced at the play-by-play

he had 3 catches for 22 yards through the first three quarters

in the fourth quarter he had 3 for 120ish and 2 TDs

looks like he abused some corner who might not make the team

by eagleyosh on Aug 30, 2009 1:12 AM EDT up reply actions

Yeah he only caught one ball from Eli.

I saw the highlight of his first shorter TD. Was a great throw and catch.

Not sure about any of his other catches.

by FredEx on Aug 30, 2009 1:14 AM EDT up reply actions

His long TD was apparently blown coverage.

by FredEx on Aug 30, 2009 1:21 AM EDT up reply actions

Exactly.

Now, if he put those numbers up during the first half, then watch out.

Don’t laugh, but while the Phillies and Orioles were both in rain delay my wife and I drinking beer and watching Canadian football. (We went to a Toronto Argonauts game on a trip to Ontario a few years ago, so when TCN or Comcast occasionally shows a CFL game, we sometimes watch a bit).

S Byron Parker, who the Eagles cut in camp this year, is back with Toronto, and LB Mike Labinjo, our 2005 training camp all-star, was playing for Calgary.

I keep hoping to see the People’s Champ north of the border.

I wonder if I can bill Jeff Lurie and Peter Angelos for the years of therapy their teams are going to put me through.

Correction: Labinjo’s injured — they were talking about him but he wasn’t actually in the game.

center- hank fraley-

wonder whats up with him still playing for the browns ?
i forget why the eagles got rid of him
i think he was an eagle from 2001 to 2005 then went to the browns
he had a weird nickname honey buns wonder how he got that ?

ok i found this=
2006
On September 2, 2006, he was traded to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a draft pick in 2008. He made his Browns debut versus the New Orleans Saints on September 10 and started in all 16 games.

It was said by teammate wide receiver Joe Jurevicius that Fraley should have been considered the offensive MVP in the 2006 season, due to his line calling and blue-collar work ethic.

i forget why the eagles got rid of him

i still dont know ? sure someone on here does

R.I.P Jim Johnson 1941-2009
we will miss you Jim Johnson, thank you for everything you done to the eagles defense making them the best of the best, RIP JJ...

Rod Hood

Rod Hood was on the Cardinals last season. Hood was signed by the Cleveland Browns on May 26, 2009. He was released on August 31. According to PFT he is currently in the process of being picked up by the Chicago Bears.
