The Linc - The circus that never was
Kevin Kolb picks up his game | Philadelphia Inquirer | 08/28/2009
"It's super important," Kolb said. "I wish I would have gotten more tonight. But it's something positive to build on. Obviously, I need as much work as I can get on the field, because I don't have a whole lot of game-time experience."
Tra Thomas enjoys reunion with Philadelphia Eagles - lehighvalleylive.com
Tra Thomas was the last Jaguar off the field because he stopped to say hello to so many of his ex-teammates on the Eagles along the way.
Eagles fans greet Vick warmly | Philadelphia Inquirer | 08/28/2009
"It was a surreal feeling coming out of the locker room and all these big guys with Philadelphia Eagles symbols on their helmets and green and white, and I had to kind of pinch myself to remind myself that it was real," Vick said. "This is something I've been waiting for for a long time, suiting up and playing a game, regardless of whether it's preseason or regular season. It's been a long journey for me, and I just want to do it right this time."
PhillyBurbs.com: Fans split on Vick at debut
The grand circus that many expected didn't quite materialize on Thursday. None of the major animal rights groups staged protests in the South Philadelphia sports complex before the game. In fact, the only organized gathering - by the local chapter of the NAACP and its area president J. Whyatt Mondesire in support of Vick - brought roughly 15 to 20 people to the gate in front of the Linc.
Brandon Marshall to explain himself(I think) on NFL Live - Mile High Report
Brandon Marshall is a complete and total jerk. Honestly, you'll never believe how childish he's acted at Broncos camp.
Much more after the jump, mostly about Michael Vick...
Bob Ford: A tame debut for Eagles' Vick | Philadelphia Inquirer | 08/28/2009
It was a good show for the television cameras, but although the medium can add weight to those on the air, it's hard to add sheer numbers. There were perhaps a dozen pro-Vick enthusiasts marching around for the cameras, and maybe a half-dozen on the other side, although that counts as 42 in dog supporters.
Gonzo: Manipulating the media | Philadelphia Inquirer | 08/28/2009
There were more reporters on hand to cover the expected protests than there were actual protesters.
Vick can finally talk about football - NFC East - ESPN
As Michael Vick jogged toward the huddle for the first time in more than two years, the near-capacity crowd at Lincoln Financial Field gave him a warm embrace. "I didn't think it was going to be that positive, said a smiling Vick after Thursday's preseason win over the Jaguars. I didn't really know what to expect. I was running out there on the field and I was listening to see what the reaction was going to be, and I was very pleased.
Vick Debuts as Eagles Notch First Preseason Win
Eagles head coach Andy Reid called his team’s loss last week to Indianapolis embarrassing and ridiculous and unacceptable. This week’s matchup with Jacksonville wasn’t any of those, but it had its troublesome moments.

After reading all these articles about Vick and what McNabb has said.. give me a break. What do you expect a guy to do in only 6 plays, technically 4. He went in the first couple seconds of the game so we could all get the taste of Vick on the field and then take him out. Reid knows what he is doing and he’s always been real secretive so this all doesn’t surprise me and it shouldn’t surprise anyone else.
I think McNabb made a vaild point, but yet the media is trying to turn it around on how he is already talking sh*t on Vick. I don’t think that is the case at all. When you are being put in and taken out after a few plays, I can see how the teams rhythm was off and he made a valid point. BUT this is the time were they focus on how they are gonna use Vick, practice these plays and ideas and execute them when it comes to the regular season games.
And the hype with the protestors? NAACP showed up for the attention – sit down! Glad to see the fans were receptive to Vicks debut and the so called protestors that were showing up (minus a handup) deserve a standing O for respecting our players and our team for not coming and causing a huge mess (plus, i would have been worried for them, we know how our fans can be!)

Wow…Marshall better have a good explanation for his behavior on the practice field. That’s just inexcuseable.

I can't stand...
miserable players disrupting the team. You realize how many people would dream to be in their shoes?! Shoot, I’d rather be in his shoes and I’m a girl! Instead I’m stuck at a desk all day and going to Iraq every six months. People need to appreciate the fact that they are playing professional football and are making a ton of money, way more than me and I get stuck with a helmet and gear on with 130 degree weather in a desert getting shot at making pennies on his dollar.
Marshall – GROW UP!

Dude
That stuff Marshall pulled is the same stuff I pulled playing soccer when I was eight. Seriously, ridiculous.
I used to be on Marshall’s side at the beginning of this whole thing. When the team doctors lied to him about a pain in his hip that ended up needing surgery I said “No way I would ever trust that team again.” But come on, Brandon. At least act like a man about this all and not some spoiled brat. His actions are ridiciulous and the Broncos should be nailing his ass to the wall.

I've got another angle on Brandon Marshall....
I’m happy he’s doing this…fuck Josh McDaniels. This offseason he has tried to destroy two teams: his and ours. First he signs Eagles God, Brian Dawkins, then he steals Knowshon when doesn’t even need him, then hes just a douche in general cause hes a B.B. disciple. Fuck Josh McDaniels. Brandon is being a prick but its karma and he’ll get traded to the Jets or the Ravens.
