Philadelphia Eagles add LB Curtis Gatewood
As it turns out, the Eagles added two player yesterday. In addition to TE Tony Curtis, they also signed OLB Curtis Gatewood formerly of the Redskins, Chiefs, & Lions. Gatewood was a college DE that was converted to linebacker.
Gatewood, an outside linebacker, originally signed with the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt in 2008. After spending several weeks on the Redskins practice squad, he was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs and appeared in six games, recording four tackles on special teams. Gatewood played defensive end at Vanderbilt, where he was teammates with Eagles safety Reshard Langford. He spent part of the 2009 training camp with the Detroit Lions.
To make room the Eagles released QB Adam DiMichele and WR Shaheer McBride.

Adam was OK, But Shaheer was a stiff. I remember people was predicting he made the team last year
based only on his size. He was supposed to be last year Cinderella story, but wound up just being a stiff.
Bleed green, or don't bleed at all!

This "Stiff" of a tight end
Had 12 receptions his rookie year for the Eagles , and was waived. Picked up by the Rams and had zero receptions his second, and was released. Picked up by the Eagles again and had zero receptions his third year. Only had eight receptions his fourth year.
Of course he did go to three straight Pro-Bowls after that and has become an all-time Philly favorite. Yeah, Chad Lewis.
I’m sure we were all jumping for joy when the Eagles picked up that “stiff”.
I bleed green and I piss silver and blue
I wonder if the Eagles realize that it’s possible to have linebackers on the roster who, in fact, played linebacker in college.
Now thats just silly.
Sure, you could take the easy way out and put players at the position they played in college and know how to play. You could do that. But where’s the drama? Where’s the opportunity to show everyone how clever you are? No where, thats where.
Westbrook to Defensive Tackle.
Superbowl.

3-4 Defense
Stop flirting… just go ahead and do it. Or be a whole new kind of trailblazer: run the wildcat AND the old school 44 Stack defense.
Belichek’ll never see this one coming.
