Vick Highlights Exciting Practices
Over the past few days, the Eagles have seemingly boosted their level of confidence and appear very anxious to get to the regular season. Many star players, including RB Brian Westbrook and DE Victor Abiamiri, have returned from injuries, and the entire team has reportedly looked sharp while practicing/preparing for Preseason Week 2. Newly signed QB Michael Vick has highlighted the practices with his jubilent behavior and athletic display of talent. No offense to our true leader and starting QB Donovan McNabb, but the spotlight has been on the former Falcon the past few days. Mostly all of the Eagles have voiced their opinion of Michael, and all of the statements have been positive.
2nd-year WR DeSean Jackson had alot to say about Vick: “It’s a blessing to be on the same offense. We’ve got a lot of firepower. It’s crazy.” “There’s just something about that left-hand release. It’s just like he flicks it,” “He’s got a real nice touch on his ball.” “He’s very humble,” “He knows he’s been through some things. It’s going to be hard to erase that, but he has a second chance to do right.”
Below are a few of the other headlines from Eagles practice:
- Brian Westbrook, Matt Schobel, Victor Abiamiri, Trevor Laws, and Kevin Kolb all returned to participate in drills and practice after dealing with injuries.
- Jason Peters, Brent Celek, and Trent Cole were the only players not practicing, due to injuries. Celek and Peters are expected to return within the next few days.
- CBs Asante Samuel and Sheldon Brown have been practicing very well, and seem to be solidifying themselves as the starting corners.
- Quintin Demps seems to have the edge over Sean Jones for the starting FS job, according to several statements from Defensive Coordinator Sean McDermott. “Quintin Demps did a nice job. They both did a nice job. Quintin, specifically, did a nice job,” McDermott said. “Again, you’re talking about a young player that is really playing in his first game as a starter [in the preseason game last Thursday] and he handled himself well. He tackled well. That’s point A. Now it’s important where we’re going in terms of getting to Point B.”

Yeah real good post...
How long till the retarded McNabb vs. Vick debates start coming?
or the McNabb vs. Vick vs. Kolb debates…
Like I said before Im trying to get to a game when the eagles are playing… Im getting a two #7 jersey made with the names “dog killer” and “pitbull” on the back just to piss everyone off.

quick question. what message are you trying to send by those jerseys? support for vick or against him?
About 10 minutes ago, I was pondering my own existence. Then I decided that it didn't matter.

Let's wait this out
the way i see it, for the eagles, its a win-win situation here fellas. he’s being paid peanuts for only one guaranteed year, one year were we can use him to our advantage and, if he does well enough, trade him for draft picks. nd if he sucks, well, we pat him on the back for trying. and then we opt out of nxt year’s contract. easy as that
"So the winning run is at second base, with two outs, three and two to Mookie Wilson. Little roller up along first; Behind the bag! It gets through Buckner! Here comes Knight and the Mets win it!"
"...and a ground ball, trickling, its a fair ball..gets by Buckner!! Rounding third, Knight! The Mets will win the ball game! The Mets win! They win! Unbelievable, the Red Sox in stunned disbelief!"
—On Buckner's error. Murphy started the call. Thorne then added to it.

Game 7:
"Got 'em!"
—After Jesse Orosco struck out the final batter.
