Todd Herremans the latest Eagle to go down

Of all the injuries so far this preseason, this one has to be the weirdest.

Head coach Andy Reid announced Wednesday that starting left guard Todd Herremans could miss the entire preseason with a "stress reaction" in his left foot, above the arch. Head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder said through a spokesman that a "stress reaction" is "a precursor to a stress fracture."

This is unfortunate news for Herremans, but it creates a big opportunity for a guy like Max Jean-Gilles. Plus, it should mean that the likes of Mike McGlynn and Nick Cole get even more playing time in preseason.

Not sure what else to say other than... at least it's not a torn ACL!

PREseason

I’m glad it said to miss the entire preseason and not season. Season ending injuries suffered before the season even starts is just so disheartening.

by BwH_ on Aug 12, 2009 12:11 PM EDT reply actions

as dumb as it sounds

if i had to chose id rather them happen before the season starts then having them happen while the season is in progress … hurts the chemistry and provides little time to replace with new strategics

I’m so glad you pointed out PREseason… I totally read “season”. I’m so conditioned to expect players to miss the season at this point, although we did dodge the bullet with Jackson.

I’m truly flabbergasted. I’m not a superstitious guy, but this is getting a bit out of hand.

FREAKIN RIDICULOUS

this is gettin played out now!!!! why arent the giants and cowboys losing fukin guys everyother second!!!!! and i dont want 2 be a jinx but i cant even imagine wat our roster is gonna look like come week 1 if the injury bug stays with us throughout the fukin preseason. sometimes u have 2 try to look 3 or 4 steps ahead………..if i was andy i would only be DONAVAN play 1 series tommorow night, we now wat he can do. if anything happens 2 him this fukin computer is goin rite out the freakin window!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you followed all the injuries in the Cowboys secondary?

We just hear more about our own injuries.

I know Mike Jenkins has a sprained ankle that doesn’t look too serious. Are there others?

After trying to follow your post

I’d prefer if you just threw the computer out the window right now anyway.

And the hits...

Ugh, yet another one. I know it’s preseason, and we need to expect this, as it happens to just about every team every preseason. But losing two players for the season already just has me flinching every time I read about any player getting hurt for anything now.
I’m almost afraid for this season to start! LOL

So instead of Sports Hernias we are being plagued by knee injuries?

Guys, seriously...

Which one of you brought the injury curse down upon the Eagles? This is seriously messed up (this is getting into the range of the Giants and their seemingly continual Hamstring issues on their WR and LB groups every year).

As for the injury, good to here it is not a big time one, but it could become one if not given time to heal, so here’s hoping he can avoid that.

Wow, let me say that I mean this from the bottom of my heart, JIBTA… You’re a fucking piece of shit.

How can you possibly celebrate an injury to a guy on your team? Bannable offense, in my opinion.

JIBTA, that was terrible. Herramans is a nice guy, and a hard worker. To wish any ill will or injury on any person is a inexcusable thing and makes you look even less of a human.

You know how the background is orange for new posts, and occasionally you’ll get a rare case where a post gets 5 rec’s and it turns green? There should be a “douche” button, and if you get 5, the background of the post turns into this…

I’m pretty sure JIBTA would lead SB Nation in “douche posts.”

Sad to see another injury, guys

A while ago I talked about how Herremans made me think of Kosier… Well, they both have experience at Tackle, they’re white and they have similar proportions but that’s not it… IMO, Kosier was the most consistent OLineman in our team in the previous seasons and several fans weren’t responsive to that, they just took him for granted and several fans used to say that he was the weakest link… After 2008 his value is clear.

I think that the same applies to Herremans, I believe that he was your team best Lineman last year (and by far) and I hope for his health and for better luck for your team.

Viva México! Go Cowboys!
