Deuce as an Eagle

Greetings from the big easy. As a diehard Saints fan I hated to see Deuce McAllister let go. About a month ago some rumors were swirling of Deuce possibly landing in Philly.

As of last week, a Jackson, MS news station reported Deuce was close to signing with the Eagles. Any news? If ya'll get him you won't be disappointed. He is the ultimate professional and team player. Some say he has lost a step but he still showed his tremendous power, heart, and determination last year.

Now with another year of rehab under his belt he should be ready to go and could be a nice change of pace for ya'll.

I wouldn't mind it.

I live in NOLA and watch the Saints regularly. He still looked good. Not great though. I wouldn’t say he would be the answer should Westbrook be sidelined. But he definitely has some power left and would be good for several short yardage carries a game plus a breakout run or two. But with roster spots still uncertain I’m not sure which young guy I’d give up to give Deuce a shot. Still, if there was a place for him I wouldn’t complain. I’d rather him than Edge.

I think the best fit out there for the Eagles style of play is Michael Pittman, but I’d certainly take Deuce over Lorenzo Booker any day.

Also, it’s be fun to once again yell DEUUUUUUCE any time he touched the ball, just like in the Duce Staley days.

but close could mean he’ll sign with the raiders in 5 minutes

i wouldn’t mind, but i think we have 3 rb’s set, the birds really like booker & at fb we have weaver, eckel, & mailei & at least one of them won’t be on the final roster

I think either McCallister or Warrick Dunn is an Eagle by end of camp.

Unless Booker has a huge preseason game 1 and 2.
