"No, I never thought about staying out (of training camp). That was never an option."
Sheldon Brown is in camp, just in case you were wondering...

Well, except for the part where he SHOULD be reporting to camp because it’s his job, and also the part where he specifically named Trent Cole and Mike Patterson as guys that should be making more money.

Sheldon Brown
Is one of my favorite players. I hope that he doesn’t get Lito’d (who ironically was also one of my favorite players). I know we’re stacked at CB but I think losing Sheldon would be horrible.
RIP Jim Johnson. You will truly be missed.

Best guess..
He doesn’t get Lito’d. Lito acted worse than Brown has, and wasn’t as good a player. I think Sheldon will get Sheldon’d (which is to say I think his time here is short, but it’ll probably have its own unique ending). He was one of my favorite players ever before he started being a douche (and I still love the guy), but we’re deep as hell at CB, and the FO doesn’t exactly dig criticism.

I don’t see Sheldon’s attitude affecting his play on the field as it did Lito’s, therefore I would expect the Eagles to play him more than they played Sheppard. When Lito did get his chances, he didn’t exactly shine.

Does anyone actually think lito was benched because he wanted a new contract? His poor play and inability to stay healthy is why he lost his job.
There’s no way anyone can convince me that jim Johnson was told not to put his players on the field because of contract issues.

I never thought he was benched for that reason. I thought he was benched because he was so pissed off about his contract, he let it affect his play on the field. When he had the chance, he didn’t impress and he couldn’t stay healthy enough to keep getting chances. And why would the Eagles give him a new contract when he couldn’t stay on the field.
It was a vicious cycle, but Lito prefers to think of it in a revisionist way.

that is what i think. lito let the contract issues get to his head and he couldn’t focus and play better.
but I think sheldon will be much better at handling his contract woes and keep his focus on football. id rather have him starting 100 times out of 100, than ellis hobbs.
RIP Jim Johnson. You will truly be missed.
