I agree...
this news blind-sided me. I thought he’d be there to ease Sean McDermott into his position. JJ will be missed!

R.I.P Jim
Just saw the announcement on CSN and of course, like all of us saddened and shocked. We knew he wasn’t doing well, but did not expect it this fast. God bless Jim and condolances to his family, friends and the extended family of Eagles and their fans.

You will be missed Jim
I knew it was bad, but I didn’t think it was this bad. I thought he’d at least make it deep into the season. Obviously we were wrong.
It was almost like he wanted to stick around for the first day of training camp to make sure HIS defense is in good hands before he passed.
My thoughts and prayers are with Jim and his family. God bless.

Why I hate Cowboy fans...
This was a comment posted by a classless Cowboy fan in responce to JJ’s passing.
“itisisaidme@… 07/28/09 6:24 pm ET I wish I could be at his funeral so I could BOO Him just like all philly scum bags deserve. Remember number 88”
I mean most of the time these idiots don’t bother me, but this dude succeeded. I mean how can anyone be so classless as to revel in the passing of a good person who just happened to be a rival’s coach?
So I’d ask that if you’re a douchebag Cowboy fan, have at least a little respect for human life and allow us to pay respect to a person who sufferred a fate he didn’t deserve.

To be fair, most of the other Cowboys fans (along with Giants, Redskins, and various of other fans) are mourning the lost of JJ and not being a douche bag like that guy.
RIP Jim Johnson, best ever.

There is another classless Giants fan on that same thread who posts extremely disrespectfull comments about 10 times each. His name is ‘bluedominon’ i think.

My (odd) analogy
Everyone’s focus on classless thugs is like focusing on airplane crashes. Its pure sensationalism because the effects can be extreme. Granted, booing cant compare to fatal crashes, this weekend’s ballpark tragedy notwithstanding, but I think its a similiar pattern.
I also apply my analogy to those who say Philly hates McNabb. No – the vast majority of us love McNabb. Except the sensationalists looking for juicy stories (whether theyre media or our naysayers) always bring up the booing of McNabb because its a “funner” story to tell.
Coincidentally, that asshat Cataldi is at it again: today I heard he did a satire song begging the Phillies to get Halladay. Not to mention that its been his # 1 story every morning. Its astonishing that his listeners don’t realize that we’d be stuck with Ricky Williams if that clown got his way. What a joke.

I would fight that guy straight up infront of all the cowboy and eagles
fans on the planet. I would wish horrible things upon his children but JJ wouldnt want that.

I knew when McDermott
was promoted that something was wrong… I will miss JJ and his wonderful defense’s.. I honestly let a tear or two slip when I saw this on ESPN today..
But his struggles and worries are over.. He can quit fighting now although that spirit will live with Phily forever.
RIP JIM JOHNSON…
