NFC East's future (about 6 years) TE
Eagles TE's (3rd year or younger)
Brent Celeck (3rd year)
Cornelius Ingram (rookie)
Eugene Bright (rookie)
Notable Player(s): Brent Celeck, Cornelius Ingram
This is a major proving year for many players on out Eagles. Can Brent handle the load and block better? Yes I think he can provide better blocking and a reliable target compared to L.J Smith. But that is where the rookie steps in. He's like a huge (but slow) Wide Receiver. That will kill linebackers like Antonio Pierce or DeMarcus Ware. I expect the Eagles to use the two tight end formation more and maybe they can use him in the slot. Man, Cornelius Ingram looks awesome in green.
Cowboys TE's (3rd year or younger)
Martellus Bennett(2nd year)
Scott Chandler(3rd year)
Rodney Hannah(1st year)
Notable Player(s): Martellus Bennett
He is on the rise and will definitely be a threat in the end zone. According to the Cowboys staff, he has much improved. He is definitely a receiving option, but what about blocking? That's what the Cowboys need to see.
Giants TE's (3rd year or younger)
Kevin Boss(3rd year)
Darcy Johnson(3rd year)
Michael Matthews(3rd year)
Notable Player(s): Kevin Boss, Michael Matthews
Both are very young. Kevin Boss is Jeremy Shockey (without the attitude). Both are very balanced in blocking and receiving. But they are a little old (for this post).
Redskins TE's (3rd year or younger)
Fred Davis (2nd year)
Notable Player(s): Fred Davis
Can he avoid a sophomore slump? Heck, he can't. He can't avoid an average season. Or is might be bust time. He has shown the ever so important "flashes." I don't see a concern with him. But have the Redskins done enough?
Winner(s): Eagles and Giants
Both have done plenty at keeping the position young. Nut the lack of inexperience troubles both teams now. But I see the two teams dominating the positions.
Loser(s): Redskins and Cowboys
Both have got some one to build around, but they haven't done enough.
