EA Madden 2010 Rankings
Madden Rankings for the NFC South, West, and North are currently out... and sadly for us the NFC East won't be out until next week. But I thought it would be fun to speculate. How will the Eagles Rank among our rivals?
Currently the highest rated NFC Team is the Arizona Cardinals, but with a score of 86 there is still plenty of room for the East to dominate. After the Cards the next teams in line are the Carolina Panthers (83), Atlanta Falcons (81), and Minnesota Vikings (80). For any wondering on individual stat notes: Potential Madden-Curse victim in waiting Larry Fitzgerald has an overal score of 99, and the Cards are listed as having the #1 passing attack in the game. Drew Brees is listed as the most accurate QB... and local to Atlanta hero, Matt Ryan has an overall score of 85. All this and more details (and vid previews of the 3 other NFC divisions) can be found here (scroll down past the cover art).
ESPN is also hosting the full player stats (but can't find team overall rank)... and indicates the dates that details will be dropped for NFC East Teams (and others if you keep modifying teamId in url, 1-32)
Philadelphia Eagles: June 29 (click date for link to ESPN, Team name is linked by Auto Tag) Date link doesn't have any stats/details until that date
So how will the teams match up? And since I seem to see this match-up mentioned a lot lately.. How badly do Asante Samuel's numbers beat Terence Newman's? Whats the differential on Overall score btwn them?
Wish I could have more than 1 poll... but since I can't.. have fun speculating in the comments.

The cowboys are 85, the giants are 89, and the eagles are 88. Didnt even check the redskins. Who cares? But I think the giants are a little over rated. Its only fair though since they won the division last year. Im sure we will take the lead in the ratings though once the updated roster comes out and everyone sees how much better we are.

i don’t really know anything about madden, but I think they’ll probably have the giants at the top of the ranking…everyone seems to love the giants in the media. they love us too, but I still think they’ll give NY the edge since they were so dominant until plax shot himself

and the whole world is still under the illusion that eli is a good quarterback without a receiver like plaxico

I dont think it has much to do w/ Eli. I think it’s more about their def. and jacobs+whatever speedy runner. I think you hear it more and more that Eli has to prove himself w/o plax. They’ve been glued to his ass since the SB, but i think that mountain of air will deflate real quick if he falls on his face w/o plax.
Either way i say let them have top billings. You really wanna be no. 1 in a game?…Id rather come out like a bat out of hell and hold the no. 1 spot in both divisions for the next decade.(in Madden) We wern’t the best last year and we weren’t the best in the East. They can have it till we take it this year, and many years to come.

eagles ratings
http://madden.easportsfans.com/?page_id=271
they’ve had the ratings for a while and the teams that have already been “officially” released stack up, so i dont see any reason why it wouldnt be legit. a few notables…
LB S. Bradley 77 (?!?!?)
CB A. Samuel 95 (tied with jason peters for highest rating)
P S. Rocca 59 (lowest rating)

I dont understand
how can they rate bradley so low last year he was rated higher (latest updated rosters) and with no indication of the eagles changing anything there why rate him so low.
no injuries
plus he had a beast of a season last year?

wow, find out what urlachers and ray lewis's ratings are
because Bradley had just as good numbers, could very well be the best MLB next year… ever since theyve tried to make the game “more real” theyve killed the ratings of good players and overrated the likes of Marion Barber and Eli

I actually like what they are doing
From the insideblog.easports.com website, there was a good discussion of why everybody’s ratings changed. Bradley’s 77 is actually above average for a middle linebacker – you probably want your starter’s numbers to be higher, but what are you going to do?I really don’t care too much how Bradley (or anyone for that matter) is rated before the season, if he plays well, his numbers will go up…
These are pre-preseason ratings afterall, and there will be a roster update within 1 day of the game’s release…

yah man
They dropped everything basically by 10 points, so his 77 is more like an 87.

I know the numbers are lower in this years Madden, but I agree w/ the head scratch on Curtis @ 76. Mainly because Maclin is listed as a 78. I know eventually J Mac will be the man… but for this year, you’d think Kevin would have higher stats. IDK, maybe they did all they could with that 20 pt diff in Awareness… but the vet should be better.

at least quinten mikell is an 86
which is only a point lower than sheldon brown. Demps is an unproven starter. (sorry) and mcnab is like a top 5 quarter back. sorry for the double post. 60 is like the average

Update
As foretold, the Eagles have an Overall of 88.. The cover page has been updated with a mini write up about the team,
http://maddennfl.easports.com/cover.action
The Eagles have had arguably the best off-season of any team in football after beefing up the offensive line with LT Jason Peters (95 OVR/98 RBS/97RBF) and Stacy Andrews (87 OVR); they then traded for CB Ellis Hobbs (83 OVR) to bolster the secondary after losing Lito Shepherd to the Jets…not to mention the brand new weapons QB Donovon McNabb (90 OVR) has to play with in rookies WR Jeremy Maclin (78 OVR/96 SPD) and RB LeSean McCoy (75 OVR/92 SPD/91 ELUS). Philadelphia has one of the strongest offenses in Madden NFL 10 this year, ranking 6th in QB, 3rd at RB, 4th in OL, and 15th at WR. The only sore spot on the offensive side of the ball is at TE (ranked 30th), currently Brent Celek (73 OVR) and rookie Cornelius Ingram (63 OVR/84 SPD) are the best the Eagles have at that position. Almost forget to mention studs like Brian Westbrook (94 OVR) and DeSean Jackson (81 OVR/95 SPD/95 ELUS) – Points will not be hard to come by in Madden NFL 10 when you play with Philly…On defense, the biggest loss will be Brian Dawkins at Safety who left for Denver. Filling in for Dawkins will be Quintin Mikell (83 OVR) and former Cleveland Brown Sean Jones (80 OVR). Better not throw on the Eagles unless you have to, they check in with the #1 ranked CB unit in the NFL with ballhawk Asante Samuel (95 OVR), Sheldon Brown (87 OVR), Hobbs, and Joselio Hanson (75 OVR). Helping out this top ranked secondary is the 12th ranked DL unit in football, led by Trent Cole (91 OVR/96 FIN) and DTs Brodrick Bunkley and Mike Patterson. The biggest weakness on defense is at LB. The Eagles have the 31st ranked LB unit in Madden NFL 10 with MLB Stewart Bradley (77 OVR/86 TAK) leading a young and upcoming group.
I believe they’ve nerfed our LB unit… and call foul… 31st in the league?!?!?! WTF? Something smells, and it shouldn’t be Stewart Bradley.. (even though they gave him a 77).

BBBBBBUUUUUULLLLLLLSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTT
THE MOTHER FUKIN GIANS ARE RATED A WHOLE FUKIN POINT ABOVE US> that felt good to let out. Anyway we beat them 2/3 times last year. went farther in the playoffs but they won the division. Burress was the one man show there without him they couldn’t do crap! They should be an 85 IMHO

Your post was actually different, you went out and ranked the players on your own.. this was kinda a quick post made when I heard the details were about to come out (but not out yet).

How the Hell is Stewart Bradley rated 77 and rookie Seahawk Aron Curry (who never played a single NFL game) is rated at 84

I understand what you mean, but they can’t make the rookies the worst players in the game. You have to make the line somewhere. Highly touted linebackers like Willis, Beason, and Mayo had great rookie years and they expect Curry to follow suit.
I agree Bradley is low, but the whole rookie thing doesn’t hold water to me.

Do they update mid season?
I’ve never paid too much attention to the franchise.. I see others saying they update the rosters at the start of the season.. what about the mid or end? Might be worth it to see what happens before picking this game up.. besides it’ll also drop $10-20 by then.
