2010 Anyone?

Things have been kinda slow lately, so I thought this would be a good time for an off-topic post. As many of you know, the 2010 Soccer World Cup will be hosted here in South Africa.

I am thinking about setting up a pretty sweet setup at my flat, where you'll be able to stay there (room for about 4 people), and I will be available as your personal taxi (I'll be staying 5 minutes away). The apartment is located in Stellenbosch, a University town about 20 minutes from Cape Town. Stellenbosch will also host one of the teams (yet to be announced), and practices will be held at the nearby Coetzenburg stadium. The Green Point stadium in Cape Town is the venue for 5 First Round matches, a Second Round match, a quarter-final and a semi-final. The apartment has sattelite, so you'll be able to watch all of the other matches as well.

I'm giving you guys the first opportunity here, as I at least know you guys (a little bit anyway). And it would also be really cool to rock out with some other Eagles fans, especially since the World Cup is taking place during the off-season, when I'm bored out of my mind without football. Like I said, the setup will be pretty sweet, but I'll discuss the details later if anyone is interested. If anyone is merely thinking about coming over, hit me up in the comments!

I was there in 2005 and there was already an incredible buzz about the world cup. There is a small chance that i’ll be coming down for that. But i have friends from SA who live in the states and they’re definitly going

I've been trying to save the money for a plane ticket...

Great win by the US yesterday, I was glad I was working at home to watch it.

My buddy has been trying to get a few folks together to make the trip for the world cup, but with the way things are it is a long shot for me at this time.

If I win the lotto I’ll look you up :-)

Very cool of you Leon, unfortunately I already planned my vacation this year to Ireland or I would strongly consider I’ve wanted to go to SA for awhile now.

So man but Ireland has been the top of my shortlist for years now, I was suppose to do it when I graduated college but I got a sweet job offer and couldn’t take the time off.

I'm from Ireland, Belfast to be exact, you should have a good time there. If you are there during the world cup there will be a fantastic buzz even if the irish do not qualify. Have a great time!!!

Maybe this time Germany can actually take it all. I almost cried when they lost. I’m 3/4 German and grew up in Munchen(Munich). That killed me, Germany lost to Italy in 82, Germany lost in 86, Finally won in 90…. lost to Bazil in 02 so close last year. F Italy and Portugal :-). I still have my W.Germany Jersey somewhere. They were awesome back inthe day, I was young thogh.
