Mike Bush to Philly?

Does anyone else agree that since brian westbrook is hurt and out, so yea warrick dunn and others, deuce, are all out there but westbrook is done in a year or two, so if you a two heaed monster for a while, why not trade reggie brown or some other crap reciever and a fourth round pick for mike bush. Or sheldon for mike. Mike and Lesean would make a great tandem for the future. For people who don't know who mike bush is hes the one who got us to the playoffs while he had 186 rushing yards leading the raiders to beat the buccanears. He was a stud in college, but got injured his last season with lousiville, and fell from a first round pick to a 4th rounder. I was hoping we would have drafted him, but i think they drafted penn states rb. But this would be a bright and powerful move if Any was able to bring in Mike and pair him up with Lesean, because without west36, all we have is lesean whos a rookie and his backup is lorenzo booker who saw the field maybe ten plays all last season. Signing leonard veaver was nice this way if lesean does start, at least he has someone to block for him, but lenord wont be running the ball that often this season. But with that acquisiton, it would make rb, young and bigger, and a bigger chance that Andy would start handing the ball of more.

broadstreet u disapoint me .. u dont know who mike bush is .. he was the best player in the country at louisville .. but he got hurt .. hes a good rb .. but hes not worth sheldon .. u prob could get him for a 5th rounder tho .. but i dont see why oakland would trade him .. but deff not for sheldon or reggie .. i love reggie .. i think we should keep both of those players .. but bush is a good nfl rb .. and would of been a high first round pick .. its a shame he got hurt .. he was a reggie bush type in college but he was more explosive and bigger .. i remember him being dominate in college

he was the best player in the country at louisville

I hope you mean the best player (who happens to be in the country) at Louisville. He was really good, but calm it down a little.

And I don’t recall him being like Reggie Bush, he’s a bigger guy, and while pretty fast for his size he isn’t that kind of player. He probably would have been the 3rd RB behind Peterson and Lynch, mid to late 1st, before the injury. Some people’s stock moves a lot with the senior bowl and combine and such, but in the midseason that’s where I feel his stock was at.

I’d be interested to see what the price would be on someone like him, although its definitely concerning he couldn’t beat out Fargas while in Oakland, and so far has no real stats to speak of.

jibta...

michael bush was nothing like reggie bush. they were both good college backs. the comparisons stop there. that being said, i would love to have michael bush on the team. the guy weighs 240, can catch the ball, and is pretty damn fast for a guy his size. he would definitely be worth a look.

by snowhill82 on Jun 17, 2009 9:12 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

i didnt mean

i didnt mean talent wise .. i meant hype was .. when bush was at louisville everyone was saying best back in the country .. he was explosive .. and hes big .. reggie is a bust .. hes too small .. and only runs latterly .. he cant go vertically .. hes a good catch out of the back field guy and is explosive in space .. but he cant run between the tackles at all .. bush is a solid back to have .. but a huge bust from what he was suposed to be .. now mike is a guy who got hurt and has lots of potential .. a buy low high reward guy .. i dont think al davis would trade him tho

just because a player is good in college doesn't always mean it will translate into the nfl...

i.e. ryan leaf, curtis enis, dewayne robertson, andre ware, cadilllac williams, kijana carter, david carr, matt leinert, rashaan salaam, robert gallery, tim couch, cedric benson, charles rogers, akili smith, alex smith, mike williams, blair thomas, william green, and yes… ricky williams (at least in comparison to donovan mcnabb).

here’s a few eagles to throw at you… kenny jackson, ty detmer, mike mamula, jon harris, and fredex

I have to agree with JIBTA on this one...

I think Michael Bush has some good potential…not for Sheldon, but he only had 95 carries last year – 421, 3 TD, and 4.4 ypc is not bad…

And I do remember Bush being a beast in college…he was supposed to be a finalist for player of the year before he got hurt…

Maybe you don’t want him on the Eagles, but he would definitely be worth a 4th or 5th rounder as JIBTA suggested…

by PoppiDamus on Jun 17, 2009 10:24 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

can't believe i am saying this...

but i agree with JIBTA. Michael Bush has some potential and I myself was disappointed when we took Hunt over Bush. Bush was projected to go near the end of the first day in the Draft had it not been for his injury. A trade for him might be worth it. like Poppi said, 4.4 ypc is solid, he could be like a second bucky but a little more powerful up the middle

Asante is better then Jack... You can call me AIBTJ

Good size and pretty explosive…could’ve shelved him for a year on IR with Westbrook and Buck carrying the load and he would have helped last year…

Iwould like to see Bush in a Eagles jersey.

Michael Bush is a great running back, who has not been given a chance to prove himself. I am not sure if i would want to give up Sheldon Brown for him, but i could understand making a move like that. This guy is going to be legit if he ever gets to run the ball. His leg has healed up and he is ready to play. I was also wishing the Eagles would draft him. If this trade were to even stand a chance at happening it would be nice, get rid of a player at a position we are deep at and not to mention disgruntled and aging, although his play has not declined yet.

Why aren’t you excited about keeping him?

LOL I didn’t read the whole thing I stopped after

why not trade reggie brown or some other crap reciever and a fourth round pick for mike bush. Or sheldon for mike.
Reggie Brown > Michael Bush, Sheldon Brown > Michael Bush, 4th round pick >= Michael Bush. You can’t just throw trades around without substantiating them. We’ll be alright we have Eldra Buckley, Michael Bush is 25 and is only entering his 3rd year in the league 2nd year where he’ll actually carry the ball.

yeah that is what I was saying … I would go with a 4th rounder I was more pointing out that people way to often just throw around trades like Reggie Brown for So and So, it’s annoying. We get it you don’t like Reggie Brown that doesn’t mean you can just trade him for someone you do like.

take a shot at tha other bush if we want a true westbrook clone-multi purpose weapon who is always hurt lol. Nah i think he may be a bust but he still has big play ability tho. But I think we can send reggie there for Mike and maybe if were lucky a 3rd rounder. Bc if al davis was smart he would kno he almost has all the pieces to a good offense but he is not and wouldnt understand that reggie is a huge upgrade from what he does have.

His cap number is about 3 – 3.5 M per year over the next 5 years, pretty high for someone that hasn’t done much over the past couple years and is not projected to be a long term starter…

what!

hasnt done much .. he was hurt last year! he was our best wr before that .. and put up better numbers than any of the wrs on this team have averaged .. reggie is well worth that .. even if he settles in as your 2 reciever

who cares about average...

I’m talking about recent history…Curtis was better in 07, everyone was better in 08…he’s never put up a 1000 yards…who cares what you did 3 years ago? Look at Marvin Harrison and Torri Holt…

I’m not saying he doesn’t have talent or won’t be able to play #2 for somebody, but he hasn’t shown it recently and doesn’t compare to better WRs making the same money…

by PoppiDamus on Jun 19, 2009 10:43 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

o bs

you an idiot .. in 07 he was our best wr .. look at reggies carreer averages compared to the others .. and he will have better per game stats .. he gets hurt one year .. everyone was not better than him last year .. a healthy reggie is and will always be better than baskett avant greg lewis and prob even curtis

by jack is better than asante on Jun 20, 2009 12:36 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

gotta agree with jack

Reggie jus had a bad year look at antonio byrant he bounced back big. I believe reggie is still valueble he jus gonna have to work from the dirt this year. You guys might call me crazy for this one but i think reggie has a small shot at finally becoming the number 1 reciever this year if he can get himself prepared mentally bc he already has it physically. All he has to do is work out and get some good burn and i think he can do it.

by birdsflyinhigh2590 on Jun 20, 2009 3:02 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'm not saying Reggie can't be good...

Curtis had more Rec, Yds, and TDs in ‘07 so I’m not sure how you define best…but he was decent in ‘07…so were Kevin Walter and Shaun McDonald and Ike Hilliard…I don’t see people jumping all over them…

I’m just saying its a what have you done lately league and Reggie hasn’t done much lately…Nobody cares what your per game stats are for your whole career…

I still think Reggie can be a decent WR in this league, I just don’t see his value being very high right now…

by PoppiDamus on Jun 22, 2009 9:28 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'm really starting to beleive that we keep R Brown, or trade him.

He still has value, at least worth a 4th.

I think R Brown for Bush is almost fair. But Brown for Bush & 6th is more acceptable. Reggie is still a decent number 2.

Al Davis

You are seriously recommending that the Eagles try and trade for a member of Al Davis’ track team? You know he sleeps with gold plated football cards of his 10 fastest players right? It would probably take Sheldon + Brown + a 4th to pry Bush from his greedy speed loving hands. Not worth it for someone soo unproven. I think B-West has a few more in him and while LeSean is unproven we actually HAVE him and until otherwise he hasn’t given us any reason to think he isn’t a capable NFL player. Panic trades should only occur in say September when B-West goes down and LeSean breaks his ankle thrusting Booker into the starter role… THEN we can panic and sign/trade for someone.

We are talking about the same Al “4th rounder for Randy Moss” Davis right?…..just pull slight of hand w/ his old ass…Remind him he has Mcfadden/Fargas in one hand while slippin a 7th rounder in the other and sliding Bush away.

I probably would have taken the 4th for Moss then too. He wasn’t all that good that year and was having his work ethic question. Instead of “Randy Moss fast!” going through his mind Al was thinking “Moss is sucky” and wanted to get rid of him. Right now “Bush fast!” is going through his mind.

Meh
eggie brown is shit on a stick… he’s the 6th wr, desean, maclin, curtis, baskett, avant, and then reggie

Reggie has better NFL Career average numbers (42 rec ~ 604 yards and 4.25 TDs a season) than all of them. Kevin Curtis is the closest in terms of all around stats (~535 yards a season) and 3.33 TDs a season). DJ has 1 year under his belt so calling small sample size on the yards and could (hopefully will) be better he hasn’t put up the TDs that Reggie has (Rookie Season 2 vs 4). Maclin hasn’t played yet. Basket ~348 yards 2 TDs a season and Avant ~ 237 yards and 1.67 TDs a season.

Let’s give the guy a break of a break for an injury riddled season last year. Trust me I could be wrong about him and he could blow this year but I’m not ready to throw in the towel on a guy who has put up pretty decent numbers.

I like Mike Bush

But he needs to be somewhere where he can get 15+ carries a game, at least. He is a guy who can wear down the defense. With Westbrook and Shady in front of him on the DC, i dont see that happening with the Eagles.

He is personal favorite of mine though.
