Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

The Linc - Eagles approval ratings high, McNabb's contract antiquated, & Dan Snyder goes bankrupt

PhillyBurbs.com:  Restructured deal for Birds' McNabb a sign of the times
Before he signed his restructured deal on Friday morning, McNabb's contract dated back to 2002, which made him - according to NFL Players Association documents - the only active NFL quarterback with a contract that predated 2005. So McNabb's deal was the oldest in the NFL by three years. And since signing it, he's taken the Eagles to four NFC title games and a Super Bowl.

Rich Hofmann: Eagles' internal poll dispels negative notion about Reid, Lurie, McNabb | Philadelphia Daily News | 06/11/2009
Reid could run for president and win with these numbers. So could Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie. So could quarterback Donovan McNabb. If these numbers are to believed, the holy trinity of Philadelphia football punching bags might not be able to beat Brady, Belichick and Kraft, but they could beat Obama - every one of them.

Deadspin - This Is What A Boston College Education Is Worth - Sore eagles
Before beginning, I should reiterate that B.J. Raji does not smoke pot. Of course, if he did fill his head with sweet smoke that might explain why he can't spell his own school's war cry.

i feel bad for dawkins

we all are so excited about this season coming up, we all feel so good about this team, we are all riding so high with such great expectations. in january, we might be marveling at the best regular season of the decade for the eagles. maybe. dawkins is gone to denver, where they have a whole new coaching staff… where they got rid of jay cutler… where they drafted knowshon moreno, throwing all priorities out the window,… where brandon marshall, their best offensive playmaker, is on his way out… at least dawk is getting paid.
