what a jackassy question — why just for 2 years not an extension?

because he is old man, what are you trying to get him to say, “yeah I didnt get an extension because I am old and no one knows if I will be able to play 2 years from now and thus an extension would be too risky for the Eagles to give me”

Might as well ask him, why didnt you get a 10 million dollar raise instead of a 5 million dollar raise?

I think part of it is the CBA, and part of it is that neither side is sure they want the other 2 years down the road. I think they believe this is the best team they’ve ever fielded, and the next two years are the best shots to win it all. After that, anything can happen. McNabb probably wants to wait to win more games and get a huge contract. The Eagles want to wait and see if McNabb can do it.
