Competition at safety shaping up to be most interesting battle in Philadelphia Eagles starting lineup - lehighvalleylive.com

With the departure of Brian Dawkins to free agency, the starting safety opposite Quintin Mikell is one of the few, and maybe only, positions up for grabs when training camp begins in July.

Mcall.com: Eagles Insiders : What do Donovan McNabb, Colin Powell and Rudy Giuliani have in common?

Donovan McNabb, along with Charlie Manuel and Cole Hamels, will be speaking at a "get motivated" seminar.

Eagles have intrigue at safety, punter and running back positions -- themorningcall.com

Things learned and discerned while following the Eagles this offseason

With rookie camp now behind him, Jeremy Maclin can say with some degree of certainty that he's ready for the
professional level.

The Eagles have the ninth most difficult schedule in the league based on the 2008 winning percentage of their opponents.

New Punter Ken Parrish was impressive in his first practice with the Eagles. He could be more than just a "camp leg."

The Eagles may have snagged the best rookie WR of the draft -- for the second year in a row.

I think LDE is also up for grabs.

Why would they put Guiliani on that presentation?

Dude has been caught in multiple scandals, why would anyone want to listen to him? lol

I think

It’s either flying green bird poop.
Or confetti left over from this years future super bowl win.

I hope

That the rookies find the playbook easy to master. I hope they can make an immediate impact.

Stewart Bradley

Said he was still learning the playbook after 3 years.
Master is a strong word.
I just hope they are intelligent enough to continually and practically understand plays and be of use to the team. I want them to get better and make an impact soon, but we all know that with not much time to prepare, like Desean last year, they will run a couple routes wrong. Thats why Maclin being able to sit out and watch some time will be super important.

I just hope that the rookies learn at least one thing from Desean Jackson before the season starts, don’t celebrate till your in the end zone

"If they end up 2-14 and both of those wins came against Dallas, that's a pretty good year."
