Bird Droppings 5/29/09

It seems like every day there's a new story about Hank Baskett and Kendra Wilkinson. Today is no different.

Winston Justice & King Dunlap are looking to win jobs as backups on the Eagles offensive line.

New Eagles LT Jason Peters is among Clark Judge's 10 "difference makers" for the 2009 season.

Thomas Goerge of NFL.com says Donovan McNabb is the Eagles top "locker room messenger." Whatever that means.

If the Eagles newest punter Ken Parrish doesn't end up making the team, he'll probably become a police officer.

Fox Sports ranks the Eagles as the 3rd best "franchise" in the NFL.

Matt Mosely of ESPN thinks everything the Eagles did this offseason was great.

Finally, former Packer Viking great and NFL hall of famer Fran Tarkenton called Brett Favre "despicable."

Yeah

He must’ve thought of Brett in a Vikings uniform and thrown up in his mouth.

Great interview with Kendra.
I have to admit.
I don’t believe I just typed those words.
I feel like I am in the twilight zone.

Difference Makers for 2009- Hakeem Nicks??

I think it’s interesting that they named Hakeem Nicks one of the difference makers for 2009 (after all, Maclin had more yards, receptions, TDs, and is obviously an all around better player by a decent margin). They list Jason Peters for the Eagles saying “He’s a more significant pick-up than Jeremy Maclin, Stacy Andrews or LaSean McCoy.” (it’s actually spelled “LeSean” btw). This is true, but I think the article didn’t want to put more than one player for a team on the list; if they did, we’d have quite a few more players mentioned considering McCoy is better than Beanie Wells, Maclin is better than Hakeem Nicks, and McNabb is better than most of the QBs mentioned. Keeping this all in perspective, I think we all have good reason to anticipate some BIG things this season….

I think Nicks can be said to be bigger than Maclin, since Nicks has to replace Burress. The Eagles already had good receivers before Maclin (wow, did I just say that?).

Yeah I think Nicks is likely to have more opportunities than Maclin in his first year.

that’s true…. Maclin might give us the fastest WR core in the future, but for now he’s going to be in for spurts.

Nicks has to come in and make an impact for the Giants or the Giants won’t have much to stretch the field with and their Running game will see 8 in the box every play… I like our situation much better

Bandwagon?

To be honest, I’m kinda excited that everyone is jumping on our bandwagon. We’ll see how it plays out, obviously.

Mosley's appreciation

is starting to border on uncomfortable with me. I know I should be happy people are jumping on our bandwagon, it irks me a bit.

Dispicable might be a harsh word...

but Fran is totally on the money in my opinion. Seriously brett, just quit and save us all
