Reggie Brown "at a crossroads"
According to Pat Kirwan of NFL.com, Reggie Brown is one of four wide receivers "at a crossroads" leading up to the 2009 season.
Reggie Brown, Philadelphia Eagles: Brown was a rising star who never quite made it over the top. He should be in the NFL for years to come, but it might be as a solid receiver in a group of receivers. Can he do what Antonio Bryant did down in Tampa? Brown needs a big season in 2009 or the Eagles' offense will become the DeSean Jackson/Jeremy Maclin show.
I would be all for Reggie turning his game around and making it back into the starting rotation, but with competition like Jackson, Curtis, and Maclin, we can't afford to cut him any slack. He's 28, which gives him an age advantage over Curtis (30) but he doesn't have much time left to show he can be a consistant starter in this league (or at least with the Eagles).

All
we can hope for is that we get something good when we trade him.
There’d have to be a miracle for him to get in the rotation.
Reggie Brown "at a crossroads"
I think the window of opportunity for Brown to remain a beloved eagle is closing quickly, i have the opinion if his contract wasnt what it is he would be gone already ….he did start out great and you can say what you will but it is what it is .. is he really 28 ? oh no could he be reaching the [ no country for old men stage] ha ha was a joke – he will get his fair shake to prove what he can do ,,go eagles
When I look at this team, I still don't feel as though we are very far away, we still have to work hard and do the things we are capable of, but we do have the chance to get back and come back strong." -Brian Westbrook-
Brown may not be the only WR at a Crossroads
As decent as Kevin Curtis has been in the 2+ years he’s been with the team, but the more he gets injured the more likely other players can take his spot the more time he misses. Remember NFL stands for Not For Long, Curtis shouldn’t expect the Eagles to twiddle their thumbs and wait for him to be ready, his long term replacement seems to be Maclin, if Reggie Brown can do what he did in his early Eagle days then he secures a 3rd or 4th receiver spot.
thats a good point
IF Maclin or Avant or dare i say Brown comes in and stuns everyone Curtis’s days as a 1-2 on the Eagles may be gone
To me the Eagles are like that girlfriend that pisses u off, then u hate her, but the next morning you wake up and remember that thing u love so much about her

Brown's Rebound
Reggie Brown played very well for us ever since he was drafted, with the exception of last year. For this, the eagles inked Brown to a long-term contract. His decline last year was largely due to injuries, and then when healthy, had dropped so far on the depth chart he didn’t have many chances to impress. Brown has already drawn direct praise from Andy Reid in the mini-camp. Teams will be so occupied with covering Desean and Maclin, Brown will see a huge increase in production (you heard it here first) Imagine 5 receiver sets with Jackson, Maclin, Curtis, Avant, and Brown.

Jack...
I’d actually like to see you create a new mega-fanpost (and you can preface it by saying it was at the request of other BGN’ers so you don’t look like a self-promoting dick), and detail your predictions of the 2009 season. Stuff like…
- Who will have a great year
- Who won’t
- The Eagles final record and how the season will end, perhaps a game-by-game win/loss prediction
- What players on the 2008 roster won’t make the team
…and pretty much anything else you can think of. I think it’d be highly entertaining, and it would also be fun to look back at it and the year progresses.

"Imagine 5 receiver sets with Jackson, Maclin, Curtis, Avant, and Brown."
If I’m the opposing DC, “Whew. They just took their best receiver off the field, and there’re only 5 guys protecting the QB.”
Who runs 5 receiver sets?

HE WASN'T A #1 PICK HE'S A 2ND ROUNDER
Draft: 2005 – 2nd round (3rd pick) by the Philadelphia Eagles
"If I can't practice, I can't practice. It is as simple as that. It ain't about that at all. It's easy to sum it up if you're just talking about practice. We're sitting here, and I'm supposed to be the franchise player, and we're talking about practice".
Allen Iverson #3
he’s saying our former #1 receiver not 1st round draft pick. In 2005 it was the Reggie Brown show.

Do you two want to get a room
….or should we continue the discussion of Reggie Brown?
Just Kidding, y’all crack me up.
At the end of this training camp, if Reggie has not proverbially “knocked the socks off” the Eagles coaches, he should be cut. If he does not exert himself as the (or one of the) alpha males on this WR corps, than his skills are replaceable at a fraction of the cost. If it comes down to a “toss-up” between him and Avant for the #3 or #4, then Reggie needs to go.
That may seem cruel, but its prolly in line with a Joe-Banner-Attitude. At least Dawkins had the locker room leadership in his corner, there is no such saving grace for Brown. At the end of this training camp, Eagles need to keep the 5 WR’s that are the best receivers or have the most upside, For what we’re paying Reggie Brown, if he does not project himself clearly into the top 3, we need to move on. On the contrary, if he has a stellar training camp, shows he’s healthy, and competes for that #2 slot, he should be collecting an Eagles Paycheck all next year…….

Thanks!
I bet you found that looking it up to see what it meant though! :-)
