Eagles' Biggest Rival

Forgive me if this has been posted already, but I recently noticed polls on Blogging the Boys and Big Blue View asking their fans who they thought was their biggest rival.  The Eagles are first in both polls.  Depending on the time period it's always been a toss up, for me at least, between these two teams as our main rival.

I, personally, think of the G'nats as our biggest rival due to the proximity and the back-n-forth history these teams have had the last decade.  However,  I'm usually in the minority when discussing this with other fans, as they all despise the Cowgirls a little more.  And that Washington team, although they're frustrating and had our number, especially the last few years, is just "Meh" to me.

So, what do you think?  If you had to choose one, who would it be?

Everyone hates the Cowboys but the Gmen are the bigger rival.

I think you can make a pretty good case for either Dallas or NY. The fans (myself included) generally hate Dallas more, though the level of hate differential may be slightly reduced now that Cancer Man is in Buffalo.

But over the course of the Andy Reid era, Eagles vs. Giants has been the battle for division supremacy more than Eagles vs. Dallas. With two recent playoff meetings, maybe that’s the stronger case.

I still voted Dallas, though.

I wonder if I can bill Jeff Lurie and Peter Angelos for the years of therapy their teams are going to put me through.

I have to say, I live in Washington DC and I just don’t care about the Redskins. Yeah, they’ve had our number recently, but when it comes to winning the division and getting to the playoffs, the Redskins just never seem to be in our way. They always fade down the stretch and I can rely on Danny boy to make a stupid move in the offseason to ensure that keeps happening.

While I definitely hate the Cowboys more, they’re becoming less interesting because Romo is basically becoming the A-Rod of football. Great in moments that don’t matter and disappears in moments that do.

The Giants though. Man, the Giants talk big, they generally back it up, and I just have more respect for them as an organization. In terms of who is in our way to win the NFC East, I’d have to say Giants all the way.

About the Giants…

and I just have more respect for them as an organization

Yup. I definitely hate the Cowboys more, but I pretty much find them to be run with extreme incompetence, and don’t fear them even a little. I think most of the players would say Giants too.

Now that I thihnk about it. I agree.

Did any of you guys read Matt Mosleys blog about the Cowboys Training camp kick off?
He is normally a Cowboy advocate(Douche), but apparantly, the Romo-R.Williams connection has some rusty tracks. They couldn’t connect for shit. Hahhaha

Tony Romo and Roy Williams are not ready for prime time. In seven-on-seven drills, they failed to connect twice. Then they had another ball fall harmlessly to the ground in team drills. They’re not on the same page at all. I just wanted to throw that out there because I keep seeing all these stories about the wonderful “offseason chemistry” that’s forming between the players. I haven’t seen any evidence of that.
Jon Kitna fumbled the snap from center at least three times. And he seemed to take the blame each time. I know it’s only an OTA session, but that’s not good. Wade Phillips was so disgusted at one point that he almost walked off the practice field.

Jon Kitna fumbling snaps? Once a Lowly Lion, always a Lowly Lion…

I read that too, and I always enjoy reading the Cowboys fans’ angry comments after an article like that.

Giants

I hate the cowboys, but I’ve found myself hating the Giants even more now (maybe because half the people I know are Giants fans). I think the Giants are the biggest rivals now since they won the superbowl. Annihilating the Cowgirls in the last game was a blast but I think winning in the Meadowlands in the playoffs made me feel even better.

Meh ...

Giants – living in Philly all my life and working for a Manhattan based company fuels my hatred simply because I deal with more Giants fans day to day due to proximity.

Redskins – they have been a pain in the ass in recent years and I know some real asshat fans.

Cowboys – honestly they haven’t been shit since 96 save for 2007 and their fans are generally jokes who don’t even follow the team unless they win. I don’t even have to watch Cowboys games if on Monday I see jerseys/hats/shirts then they won if I don’t then they lost.

Straight to the Cowbitches faces

To me the Eagles are like that girlfriend that pisses u off, then u hate her, but the next morning you wake up and remember that thing u love so much about her

for me its most def. the giants only because the cowboys have been a joke lately. I have been a eagle fan since 1992 and i can honestly say my all time fav victory besides nfc champ. game was by far ending the giants season this year. I watched that game every day for a month afterwards. the giants are def. our biggest rival because they pose the biggest threat to us even though u can pencil us in for 12 wins and another div. title.

REGABERTO was the other guy who Voted for the Skins.
A freaking Cowboys fan.
I just looked at his profile and it shows him picking the Skins.
So he doesn’t count, and If GreeninBaltimore did it as a joke….
Then we have our ZERO count.
No one cares about them!
Ha!

I say the G-men just because of how close we are to each other. There are always Giants fans at the Linc before games talking trash in the parking lot and the same goes for games up in the Meadowlands. What scares me though are the punks from Philly who root for the Boys. The bandwagon leftovers from the early 90s show up to all the Dallas games at Philly. From my experience though there Giants games are always more entertaining because I think the G-men fans are the only ones that can give as good as they get. I have yet to go to a game in Dallas, but as far as NY and DC the Giants fans bring the heat and the Skins fans are mostly tame and mild mannered. I’ll go Giants.

I voted Cowgirls

because I hate them, but I gotta agree with everyone else, the Giants recently are more of a rival.
