In a recent interview with SI.com about life on the road, Redskins' TE Chris Cooley was asked about his least favorite city to visit.
Chris Cooley:Philly. I really don't like Philly. I got a cheesesteak the first time I went there, but other than that, there's just nothing exciting about Philly.
Later in the interview, he reveals the real reason for his dislike of the city...
SI:Which city has the most rabid fans?
Chris Cooley:Philly. We got eggs thrown at our bus when we came into town last season.
The last Eagles v Redskins game I went to, Eagles fans were certain to let Cooley and the other Skins know how they felt.

I’d say the rabid fans got them pretty riled up, so how can he say there’s nothing exciting about Philly?
That said, you always dislike what you fear. I hate all these baiting interviews. Athletes just need to learn to keep their mouths shut. He’s just giving the Eagles fanbase more ammo.

cooley lives up to his name. he’s the most down-to-earth, regular-joe, cool guy you could hope for in an athletic idol.

Thats fine.
I’m just saying that Cooley wasn’t prancing around Skins camp in underwear cause he’s a down earth normal guy. He’s putting on act to get attention. IMO.

it's BECAUSE of that underwear story
that i think he IS a down to earth, normal guy. so many pro athletes try to look cool and buy into the hype and inflated ego that comes with it. no one else would have worn that to practice, but because cooley is a regular dude (and that’s a funny thing to do to your teammates/coaches/USA), he went with it.
other athletes play pranks or jokes or whatever, but they are too image-conscious to go with something like that. cooley doesn’t care. he’s just a funny guy, IMO.
maybe i identify with him because I’M a character. i like doing stuff like that because it’s funny. it’s an act f or attention just like any “funny” guy telling a story at a party is an act. every attempt at humor is an “act”. you do it for a reaction, so i dont see anything wrong with him.
then again, not everyone likes me, so your point is taken. ;-D

I agree with him doing everything for attention or else nobody would know who he is.. he’s an average player. Better than our TE’s I give you but average by league standards

Cooley’s pretty awesome. I’m not a fan of other teams but there are a select few players I have respect for from the other teams and he’s one I actually like a lot.

Cooley can be a “regular dude” or “pretty awesome” but he plays for the skins. The skins are in the same division as the birds, therefore I hate him. Simple as that.
