Dillusion over at Big Blue View

I decided to check out their site to see what they were saying about their players and the ones we got. I couldnt help to notice some of the fanposts about their 2 new WRs. One fanpost is comparing Ramses Barden to Brandon Marshall. They think he will be better than him. In another fanpost they compare Hakeem Nicks to Reggie Wayne. Is it just me or does anyone else think they have to lay off the drugs? They need a wake up call bigtime. Or just a shot in the leg.

i am sure they say the same things about us. I’ve seen people compare McCoy to Westy and Maclin to Boldin. Its all relative and happens out of excitement. I dont know that drugs are involved. but i think that any team with an average draft or better is “High” on their team right now….as they should be. If ever a time to be excited, now is it….no team has lost a game yet!!

Agreed

I can’t stand the Giants but let’s give their fans credit for backing their team. I can’t believe I just said that.

We do the same thing.

I would go over to BBV and have some fun, but I actually like the picks

I really liked Bardem, dude is huge @ 6’6’. Doesn’t mean much, but you can’t teach hight.

Also, Nicks is a nice receiver, he will get every opportunity to succeed in NY. I thought the same thing when they had Steve Smith and drafted Mario Manningham, but I was wrong then. What ever happened to Sonirice Moss, man is he a bust.

I think they finish behind us but before Dallas in the division.

hahaha

nicely put, rec’d. i don’t like it when they come trolling over here(JIBTA), so i won’t sign up for another teams page for that reason. Not to say I don’t get a little chuckle out of reading them babble on about how much better Nicks is than Crabtree and Maclin.

yeah this isn’t a big deal man… they’re just happy about their draft class… i mean the only way I would go over there bashing them is if they had the Raiders draft class and were thrilled

i actually kinda like the guy they drafted in the second round.

he’s fast as hell and he hits like a ton of bricks.

brian mccann: derek lowe's got the best slider i've ever seen
john smoltz: yeah? and josh bard's the best catcher i've ever thrown to.

by variablesdont on May 1, 2009 12:38 PM EDT up reply actions

but WHERE they drafted him…. ugh… a round, maybe two too early

It's spelled "delusion"

Dillusion suggests that they like pickles.

I think the Giants have a good draft class. It’s natural for them to suggest that Nicks and Barden are better than Maclin. If they had gotten Maclin and we’d gotten either of the other two, they’d say the exact opposite things. They’re homers, but so are we.

Yeah I was watching some of the mini camp footage first thoughts… Ingram looks BEASTY dude… and this is without pads ..he made every catch and a big play down the field but man he just looks BIG i am real excited about him now seeing him in that 88 midnight green… Desean looked like he put some muscle on and Mcnabb was hitting him on stride with the quick slants it was nice to watch… Demps was the starter at FS and they had Macho on the 2nd team at FS

Let ‘em dream – except Cowboys fans. They better bring themselves down to Earth, and soon. It’s one thing to feel good about your team; it’s an entirely different story to be totally delusional.

NIcks should be a solid WR, but I don’t get Barden. The guy doesn’t do anything particualrly well and hasn’t played against real competition.

IF he wasn’t tall, the guy wouldn’t even have been drafted.

by JasonB on May 1, 2009 6:32 PM EDT up reply actions

Very true Jason… The thing with Nicks and Barden is neither has dangerous speed that really scares me… I will take our DBs vs Giants WR Corps all day this year

by TheILLadeph on May 1, 2009 6:53 PM EDT up reply actions

Don't forget about their veterans

Hixon has some speed though. So does Steve Smith (their version, not the Panthers one). In theory, Mario Manningham also has a lot of speed.

If they put out a combination package of some fast dudes and Nicks (a possession receiver no doubt) or maybe Barden in the redzone (assuming he doesn’t completely blow), then it is definitely possible for them to make some mismatches happen.

About 10 minutes ago, I was pondering my own existence. Then I decided that it didn't matter.

by IronHank on May 1, 2009 10:23 PM EDT up reply actions

My main office is in Manhattan I was there on Wednesday, no one wanted to talk about the draft. Granted most fans aren’t as hardcore as Eagles fans and further more most fans aren’t as obsessed as I am but no one wanted to even entertain a discussion about the draft. Shit most of them still thought they had Amani Toomer.

I got the impression and still do that most Giants fans are in denial about Maclin and are over doing there praises of Nicks and Barden. That’s cool It can really go either way Maclin could bust just as easy as Nicks, and Barden is even more of a wild card.

you think its bad over at the giants site just wait until you check out the redskins one. I am from DC so I have been visiting over there off and on recently. The thing i found the most amusing was there constant claims about how deep their DLine is… its almost laughable. Sure Haynesworth might be a player but past that there is nothing.

DLE ~ Brian Orakpo / Phillip Daniels / Renaldo Wynn
DLT ~ Cornelius Griffin / Anthony Montgomery / Lorenzo Alexander
DRT ~ Albert Haynesworth / Kedric Golston
DRE ~ Andre Carter / Chris Wilson / Alex Buzbee / Rob Jackson

remember the players I have striked out are going to go into training camp as LBs according to their coaches. That leaves a 36 year old Renaldo Wynn and UDFA Alex Buzbee battling for the third spot behind 35 year old Phillip "I tore my ACL last year Daniels

their starting DT once Haynesworth either a) gets suspended for trying to pull some cheap S or b) gets KTFO by a Stacy Andrews after he tries to pull some of that crap on his brother.

I love Nicks but really he won’t be Reggie Wayne. I think in 3yrs he might be Boldin @ worst H.Ward like. But that’s ju st from what i seen in college. Let them play first then we can decide.
