BDawk recognizes Dan Leone

I know some of you may have already heard this story. It appears that visiting players are granted 2 tickets to away games. On WIP morning show today, it was reported that Brian Dawkins has decided to give  his 2 assigned tickets to Dan Leone for his return to Lincoln Financial Field.

For those of you who have been living in a cave the past few weeks. Dan Leone is the former Eagles employee who was fired for calling the Eagles "retarded" on his facebook page.

Brian said that if he would have resigned with Philly, Dan would still have his job. Sorry I don't have a link to confirm any of this story, as I am basing it on what I heard on the radio.  I'm sure Jason will just update this post with one (of course if he finds this post worthy). I believe this story shows us the kind of stand up man Brian Dawkins is. I'm sure that game means a lot to him, and he would love to use those tickets for himself, but he fealt compelled to his fans first.

All football issues aside, Brian is a wonderful person and a heck of a man. I hope we do him proud when he comes back to Philly.

Brian, you will always be loved.

"Class Act"

I don’t really this as being a “class act”, he’s really just sticking it to the Eagles. The Eagles didn’t do anything wrong with Dawkins or firing the guy. They gave Dawkins an offer they saw fit, and he took another offer without even contacting them again. They wouldn’t have matched Denver’s offer, but he at least should have given them a chance. As far as Leone, who cares, it’s none of our business, there’s a lot more unfair things going on in the world. It’s not unheard of for people to get fired for publicly disrespecting his employer.

I was torn between ...

BDawk sticking it to the Eagles, and BDawk saying “thanks for saying what you said about me man, it needed to be said. Perhaps in a smarter arena, but that’s neither here nor there, here’s two tickets.”

:)

Still waiting for the Eagles to Bring It Home For Jerome

Dawk's point

He said it probably wasn’t the best decision on Leone’s part, but had Dawk still been with the Eagles it never would have happened. He felt bad that his departure led to this man’s firing, deserved or not. I would call that a classy move.

Denver probrably made an offer and said if you walk out the room, the offer is off the table.

So Dawk had to decide at the moment what he was gonna do with out calling the Eagles.

i'm torn on this one too.

But because of Dawkins Character i think he’s being nice to the guy more than sticking it to the eagles

I would have considered him cooler if he took less money and played for the Eagles this year. I’m not blaming him, I would have taken the money too, but that would have made him cooler.

I only blame the Birds for that flop

I love my Birds but it seems like they didnt try to go out of there way to make him feel important to the team anymore, I think if they made him feel likea priority and not an automatic resign things would have been different. After everything Dawk has done for the team and the city Im sure it was a shock to him when the Birds gave him the “first and final offer”

you’re just assuming that is what happened from what the media has said. Truth it we will never know but what we do know is Dawk was offered a contract here then flew out to Denver and signed there.
