"Everyone is expendable," Ellis Hobbs said. "At the end of the day we’re all dollar signs. Moves need to be made, things need to be done and at the end of the day that’s when you need to be professional about it and know that it’s a business and gone on. Sometimes you don’t fit into their program any more and like I said, unfortunately it was my time, but at the same time fortunately I can go to another team that wants me. Another man’s trash is another man’s treasure."

Its almost like hes speaking directly to Sheldon
For as young as he is he seems to have a pretty good grip on the NFL and he doesnt seemed scarred by it. Sheldon needs to take a page out of this guys book, I wonder if Sheldon will take this personaly

agreed
all sheldon is thinkin about now is trying to get that last payday before he is too old and no one wants him
he is going to be kicking himself in the ass if he does get traded to the raiders or lions where he might get paid but never get a ring

Disagree
Guys
MONEY>RING!!!
Us fans are EMOTIONALLY attached, the plays are FINANCIALLY attached. Mr. Philadelphia (Dawkins) had no problem taking his services to Denver…

the grass is always greener, always
if he gets his payday to a bad team, once he cashes that check, and goes 5-27 in 2 seasons he will realize that he sold out for one last paycheck and want to be traded to a contender since his career is almost over
and the sad part is that will most likely happen when the team is trying to stockpile draft picks to waste in the draft and continue the endless cycle of rebuilding

sad thing is ...
id let him come back for a year or two if we needed a backup and locker room presence …. but only if both were needed …

They all say taht
Sheldon at one point discussed “the business” side of things . Interetingly enough when Lito and Sheldon were drafted McNabb said something like “you just never know when its your time, but you have to respect the biz yada yad ayada.” a few years later Kolb gets drafted and Mcnabb couldn’t believe it.
they all “understand” the biz side of things until they feel they’re on the wrong side of it lol

ummmmm
I’m pretty sure he’s talking about how he just got traded to the eagles, and probably wasn’t even aware that he was being shopped around. Sounds like bellicheat to me
by the way hobbs, it’s “ONE” man’s trash is another man’s treasure
Bill would be the “one”, and andy would be the “another”

wtf?!
did ellis hobbs refer to himself as ‘trash’??? wow yea i’d say he’s got an understanding of things lol… nah i hope he plays well as a nickel and does some nice things for us in the return games… he’s young but i think he’s already hit his ceiling…

But his ceiling is as a decent starter on a good team. He’s not as good a corner as Sheldon, but he’s a pretty good fallback plan and like you said he’s still young.
